Major port city which is well worth a visit to see its majestic cathedral and Roman ruins. Great fun during fiesta time - there's a youthful feel to the city as there's a big university population. Lots of great places to eat and drink.
Visitar el aqueducto de Tarragona o puente del diablo es una experiencia mágica que te transporta en plena época romana. Además, el entorno natural es muy bonito y da pie a hacer trekkings y rutas en bicicleta. super recomendable!
After Girona (which I see another person already recommended, so I'm not going to write about it), a very nice city to visit is Tarragona. It was the capital city of this area during Ancient Roman times. You can still visit its amphitheatre, the remains of the circus, the walls of the city, and visit the Medieval cathedral and towers. In general, it's a nice city to go on a day trip, and you can get there easily from Barcelona by train. It's not as touristy as other places in the Catalan coast and has a very nice ambient with little restaurant terraces and such. If you go to Tarragona, you should definitely check if they do a castellers (traditional Catalan human castles) exhibition. They often to them in front of the city's cathedral, which contributes to make it especially pretty.
nice city, beautiful buildings, good athmosphere, nice bars , beautiful streets, roman ruins to visit
