This is a family friendly villa on the outskirts of Rome, majestic and elegant, the rooms are greatly furnished and very elegant. The staff is very friendly...

The property is primarily a wedding venue. The room I stayed in was ok but very basic. The location is remote and there isn't much to do around there. The hosts do not speak English and I was charged twice for the stay (once by Hotels.com and once at the property). I haven't yet been able to sort out this charge and since the mistake was with the property staff but they don't speak English

40 km for nothing – absurd experience (and disappointing rooms)

Just surreal.
The owner of Villa Strampelli had guaranteed us a room. Not a request, not a maybe: confirmed. Being also regular customers, we trusted and drove 40 km to get there.
Result?
We arrive and are told that the room had been given to someone else.
No calls before.
No warning.
No solution.
Only a “is no longer available”.
This is not a mistake: it is total disrespect for people's time.
Especially to customers who already know the structure.
Moving someone and then leaving them without accommodation is something unacceptable.
If you're looking for reliability, avoid.
We will definitely never return.

Intanto quello che scrive non corrisponde a verità, la camera uno è la piu piccola le altre sono spaziose e con mobili acquistati da poco, la camera mentre lei ha chiamato booking l'ha affittata, quando lei è arrivato le è stata proposta una stanza più grande allo stesso prezzo, la prossima volta ai clienti sarà detto di prenotare su booking, noi cerchiamo sempre di essere dalla parte del cliente e se lei non tornerà più ce ne faremo una ragione, purtroppo recensioni così ci lasciano senza parole, la camera era libera quando le è stato detto si. Grazie comunque per la sua recensione abbiamo imparato qualcosa in più che essere sempre disponibili non paga........

The experience was positive. The villa set in a centuries-old park.

Beautiful villa set in a park with ancient trees. Convenient parking with excellent availability. The rooms are spacious but need some maintenance. dr. Alfredo is friendly and helpful like the staff.

This place took us by surprise because it was definitely not like the photos or what we expected. Our room was very old, musty smelling and in desperate need of a renovation. Cracked walls, missing light bulbs or no bulbs at all, water damaged doors and old torn bedding. If you could see past those things the potential for this place to be restored to its original beauty is definitely there. We appreciated the attempt to clean the room and the towels were very nice, large and sparkling white. The care takers or owners didn’t speak English so we needed our translator, but they were very friendly and kind which helped us overlook the flaws. The property was so beautiful and peaceful, it’s a shame to see it lacking so much. It said that there was a restaurant on site, but we didn’t see anything of the sort nor did we get a tour of any other part of the hotel. It was a strange set up so we didn’t know how far we could really explore.
There is a restaurant about five minutes down the road where we enjoyed dinner one night but we had to drive about 25 minutes to the next town so that we could have coffee and breakfast in the morning. An onsite restaurant would have been very convenient due to the location of this place. I don’t think we would return here unless it had a complete renovation….
