A Great Start to our Castle Tour Holiday

We stayed at the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel for 1 night on July 27, 2026. It was our first stop after an overnight flight from Montreal. Being only roughly 40 min from the Dublin airport, it was an excellent location for that first night and the tiredness that occurs with overnight flights. We arrived at the hotel early - since our flight arrived at 8am. By the time we picked up our rental car and made our way to Dalkey, we arrived around 10:30am. Stepping inside this 18th century castle hotel was lovely. The decor was exquisite and the team wonderful. To our surprise, our room was ready!
We had a seaside King room booked and the balcony with a magnificant view of Dalkey and the seaside coast was breathtaking. It was so nice to be able to sit in the ocean air breeze and sip a morning coffee.
We decided to take a walk into Dalkey to see some sites, the ocean and grab some lunch. A wonderful 15 minute walk takes you to the ocean, a few lovely castles to view, and a fantastic soup lunch at Finnigans.
For dinner, we ate at their Dungeon Bar - which was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing.
After dinner, to stay awake, we decided to take a walk to see where Enya and Bono both live. A bit of a walk, but a beautiful one. The seaside views were scenic for sure!
Our sleep was dreamy in their comfy king bed and waking to enjoy their fabulous breakfast the next morning topped off our wonderful stay.
I would highly recommend staying at the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel for any type of stay. The team was wonderful - helping my husband with a stain on his pants and serving us such a delicious meal to end our day. This was a perfect way to begin our 10 day Ireland holiday. Thank you.

Quality stay near Dublin

Nice and quality hotel near the coast and the Wicklow mountains. The kind personnel, the quality of the kitchen and the swimming pool are making it a very pleasant stay.

Fabulous stay at Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel

I had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel. My room was spacious, very comfortable and equipped with an iron and ironing board, nespresso machine and stocked with biscuits for an afternoon snack as well as bottled water. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, with the cold buffet offering all kinds of fruit, yogurt, cereals, granola, pastries, cheeses and juice, while the hot buffet offered pancakes, scrambled and fried eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns, puddings, bacon and sausages. The staff was most pleasant and helpful at all times. A 15 minute downhill walk gets you into the town of Dalkey, which is a lovely village with excellent restaurants and pubs, but I usually did take a short taxi ride back to the hotel at night instead of doing the uphill walk. Taxis are plentiful and the ride back to the hotel was about 10 euro. There is nothing not to like about the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel. I hope to return there again.

Birthday pack

Amazing time had at the hotel enjoying the time out and about. Staff have to say where very helpful and fulfilled all my requirements for the stay .definitely worth a visit and I'll be back soon

Family break

Stayed at hotel for 2 nights with my family. We cannot fault this hotel in anyway. It's absolutely fantastic tbh. Staff were very friendly and helpful and atmosphere was very chill. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable beds. Location and views from the terrace bar along with the walks up and around killiney hill were really beautiful. Short walk down the Rd to dalkey main Street. Are kids played for hours on the large green in front of the hotel with other kids they met. All in 10/10. We will be back for sure
