An unforgettable stay at Villa Castellanos
My husband and I stayed for 7 days, from July 4 to July 11, 2026, and we can only say that it has been a wonderful experience.
Our room had a very pleasant balcony where there was always shade in the afternoons, the perfect corner to rest while we contemplated El Nido del Hortelano and El Rincón de los Libros Olvidados.
At El Nido del Hortelano, a charming mix of bar and shop, I tried one of the best carrot cakes I have ever eaten. Right across the street is El Rincón de los Libros Olvidados, a true gem for reading lovers, where you can find old, out-of-print, and second-hand books.
And, next door, the La Chata Restaurant, which, although it does not have a Michelin star, could well deserve one. We enjoyed an exquisite wild sea bass, variegated scallops, hake... and some spectacular desserts: an unforgettable cheesecake and a simply delicious pistachio cake.
From the accommodation, beautiful hiking trails start along the cliffs that lead to La Arena beach, next to the estuary. A landscape that left us completely impressed by its beauty.
But, without a doubt, the best part of our trip was Villa Castellanos.
We were looking for charming accommodation, something different from the typical hotel or apartment, and Villa Castellanos far exceeded all our expectations. It is not just a villa: it is a home. From the first moment, they made us feel at home.
It is a place where you can breathe peace, tranquility, and harmony. Its owners are charming people and their family conveys a hospitality that is hard to find nowadays.
Every morning we shared homemade breakfast on the terrace with the rest of the guests and the owners, creating a close and very special atmosphere. In addition, the terrace was always available so that we could have dinner there if we wished. Each room has a shelf in a refrigerator ingeniously camouflaged in a bookcase, as well as cutlery and a microwave, small details that make the stay much more comfortable and encourage those moments of togetherness.
During our stay, two Spain matches in the World Cup coincided, and we ended up watching them all together. It was a spontaneous and endearing experience that turned some simple soccer matches into an unforgettable memory thanks to the good atmosphere and everyone's collaboration.
We are taking away much more than a few days of vacation: we are taking away memories, conversations, laughter, and the feeling of having found a very special place that we would love to return to.
If you are looking for accommodation with a soul, where besides resting you can feel part of a big family and discover one of the most beautiful corners of Cantabria, do not hesitate: Villa Castellanos is an unforgettable place.

Perfect place to rest It is a beautiful house. With everything you need. Carried super well by Eva. He treated us with luxury. You can't ask for more.

Semana excepcional
Un lugar con muchísimo encanto, acogedor y tranquilo. Ambiente familiar 100%. Estuvimos una semana en la buhardilla y como si fuera nuestra segunda residencia. Eva y Marcos unos anfitriones de 10. Tras la vuelta los desayunos en casa no son lo mismo…
Mención especial al rey de la casa: Jordi, el tercer anfitrión peludo, de 10 también! Repetiremos.

Villa castellanos
Fuí con mi pareja, me sentí como en casa, un trato espectacular, tanto Eva cómo Marcos, los propietarios de la villa, desayunos con zumo, café con leche, tostadas para degustarlas o bien con tomate natural aceite o varias mermeladas caseras realizadas por Eva y si con eso pensáis que se acaba, te trae un surtido de sobao, Quesada, bizcocho y magdalenas, todo lo hace ella y es impresionante. Volveremos seguro, un gusto en la decoración, que hace su estancia realmente acogedora, limpieza y unas vistas preciosas. Simplemente deciros si vais a Isla, tenéis que disfrutar de esta villla y de sus propietarios, os va a encantar.
