Worth the stay -

This Hostel is worth the stay. If you do not expect a luxury hostel stay, but get very good value for money, that's your hostel. Our apartment was big, sleeping 3 people. The people at reception were ALL very friendly and helpful. The hostel is just 150 meters away from the Grunwald monument and just outside the city wall. Hence, less than 5-10 minutes from the city center. An EXCELLENT choice - Value for Money in the city center of Kracow -

Hostel Type Accommodation at Hotel Price. Not for Me

Central location near main station.
Advertised itself as an aparthotel, but down here as a hostel. It's a hostel at the price of an hotel.
Bathroom was fine.
Coffee maker was a jar of instant & a kettle.
Functionally Ok but dingy room, cheap unmatching furniture, zero aesthetic or staffing post checkin.
Near zero bedding. Basic to the extreme.
Entrance ways are of neglect.
Not for me. I hated it & couldn't wait to leave, which I did a day early.

Drugs found, not clean.

I spent a day cleaning it, opened a drawer in the main bedroom to find drug paraphernalia which I immediately reported so noone would think it was mine. Just shows the level of cleanliness if you don't open a draw... space is fine, location good. No towels, had to ask no attention to detail. Hob turns on then turns off... OK for a hostel which probably explains the drugs, photo attached...

Better a nomad camp

They advertise photographic images of cute rooms but on arrival... everything worse than a hatchery. In fact, by calling it a betola, I'm underestimating the betotolas. Not recommended, beyond the horrible apartment with a great stench of sewer return, the toilet in a closet of about 60cm next to the stove, antiwar beds with mattresses 5 cm thick worn and deformed, water kettle with yellow limestone inside, kitchen sink tap dismantled, lukewarm and unproposable house in Poland .. 273 € or 1148.40 ZL for 2 nights... I would have taken the room in a 4 star hotel. Too bad I can't insult you because I would gladly. Don't go there, it's money wasted and liver health that gets blessed. 2 nights and 3 days of hell. Holiday ruined

Terrific value for money

From the airport, an inexpensive and fairly short journey by train to Krakow Glowny, the main train station, where you find yourself in an enormous shopping mall. Less than 10 minutes walk willl take you to the Roller Hostel. I attach a photo of our twin room (7) but there are already many photos here which show the other rooms and the exterior of the building which is sandwiched between an atmospheric bar with cheap beer and good music on one side, and a reasonably priced supermarket on the other.
The hostel is just outside the city wall and a pleasant walk of less than 10 minutes takes you to the city centre.
The reception is on the second floor, along with a large kitchen (oven, microwave and fridge)/eating/relaxing area with TV and games. Coffee for the percolator, or instant, and tea are free, with milk in the comunal fridge. Cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery are on site. This was spotlessly clean, as was every part of the hostel we saw.
Our room was large and the beds were comfortable. A large radiator provided ample warmth. We had a TV (which we didn't watch) a wardrobe, 2 small tables and a small sofa. Our provate bathroom was perfectly fine. Our large window overlooked the rear of the hotel and we had no problem with noise. WiFi was free and good.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff who not only perfomed the usual duties with efficiency and helpfulness, but who went that extra mile when they found my glasses after I left the hostel. They telephoned me in Riga, where I had moved on to, and then not only did they post them to me in the UK, but they bought a smart glasses case for them. That is real customer care!
