good location

The building is charming, there are squirrels, the street is quiet (the homeless people who frequent the square are calm). We didn't have direct contact with the host but I received the code by email and everything worked fine. We stayed in the simplest room, the bed and room were small, the window didn't open (there was portable air) but I knew when booking. The bathroom was shared, of a good size, but I felt it was lacking in cleanliness. The location was strategic, in a more alternative neighborhood, with cafes and restaurants nearby.

NO PRIVATE BATH

NO PRIVATE BATH is buried deep in the second page when you’re booking. You do not know unless you look beyond the first page. It says the room is on the first floor, but it’s up a very narrow, steep set of stairs, and it was very challenging to maneuver a suitcase up there, especially for a senior couple. The window covering was a light gauze and kept out none of the street lights so the room was like daylight all night long. There was a little park across the street for dogs mostly, and we were woken up early and kept awake late with dogs barking and people talking. It said it was air-conditioned, but there was a portable air conditioner in the closet so we would’ve had to set it up ourselves. The only thing good about it was the location.
