Charming rustic boat

I had a lovely stay this week. Traveled alone and enjoyed myself. The location is perfect if you’re planning to take a sea plane or ferry. Takes only few minutes to get to either location. Laura was a great host. Thank you again!

Horrible is the best description for the entire stay.

It's a filthy mess. Wet carpeting, smell horrible beds with big dips.
The stairs are suicide tiny and straight down into the rooms. Toilets. You have to pump while holding the lid down and then pour water by hand into it.
Electrical nightmare throughout. Do not rent this! It should be reported to the City of Friday Harbor. Health dept and fire department.

Creepy and smelly boat

My wife and I spent a few days in "The Slow Season" earlier this month. We stayed in the forward stateroom, and the first thing that we noticed when we went down the awkward stairs was the overwhelming smell of diesel fuel. The room seemed dirty and outdated.
The bathroom was tiny(yes, I know that I was on a boat), but the shower was extremely small and hard to get into. As far as the sink, I would suggest sitting on the toilet while brushing your teeth.....the least awkward way to do it.
The bedroom had a vcr/dvd combo, and a handful of old movies. I joked that it was a "lovenest," but my wife said, "ain't no lovin' goin on in here."
When we turned out the light, I had to close the bedroom door, because it was really creepy and I was afraid some ghost of an old pirate would come in and get us......not to mention that the boat didn't have a locking door.
Also, if anyone is in the galley, they can look down into your room, or peak their head in at anytime.
I would steer clear of this place.

Horrible!

The boat is wore out. It has a foul odor which was being disguised by having all the portholes open in every room. Carpet is nasty and the sofas are narrow. Bathroom is so tiny, it's not really usable. Shower had hair in it and appeared to have mold on the tiles.
Bed had hair on it as well and the sheets smelled like a nasty old man had been there prior. I truly believe that the sheets were never changed. I chose not to even sleep in the bed. But who could sleep? The doors were not to be locked on the boat due to other people in the other room may need the kitchen. But who could use the kitchen after 11:00 pm? The water is cut off and not turned back on until 6:00 am. No TV, no Wifi, and a leaky roof in the bedroom. Not worth the money and especially because it's dirty and unclean. I could go on, but I hope this review helps others out. I think I paid $240 or something like that and I refused to stay for breakfast. The coffee pot looked like heck! Atleast could have a nice clean coffee pot. Geez.

Breakfast on Deck

Our host, Laura, begins the experience by sharing the story of the vessel and why she loves it: you just know you're going to end up enjoying the adventure. Since they've acquired the Slowseason, she's been updated and we found her very clean and beautiful. The bed was comfortable although both cabins could be difficult to access if a guest has mobility problems (but otherwise another part of the unique experience). Breakfast in the sunshine on the deck was lovely and graciously served. We enjoyed lingering on deck much of the evening under provided cozy blankets with a glass of wine-just watching the boats and ferry sail into the harbor. We felt like the boat was our very own for a space in time where life slowed down to take it all in...at least for the moment. Will definitely return!
