Location of the hotel is great. Close to the beach, stores and food spots.
Hotel room was pretty spacious, clean, bathroom was clean. It has A/C , mini fridge and microwave which was great.
My only and biggest complaint was the bed. The mattresses on both beds were just awful.

The front desk hung up on me!

THE FRONT DESK HUNG UP ON ME!!!
Unfortunate Experience! I come to Carpinteria several times a year as a local from Simi Valley, but my recent stay at Casa Del Sol was disappointing. I prepaid $376.99 via Expedia, which included a $30 property fee.
After checking out, I saw an extra $35 charge on my card. When I called the front desk at around 4 PM on my day of checkout, to clarify why my bill was $411.50 she informed me that an extra $17 a night was charged for property fees. I explained that Expedia had already collected a $30 property fee ($15/night), meaning I was being double-charged. She told me it was "my problem" and an issue they deal with all the time with Expedia, then hung up on me.
Beyond the billing issue, the property has zero staff on-site until the 3:00 PM check-in time, so no early assistance or check-in is available. The room was quite small, the floors left our feet dirty, and the free breakfast was not something we could eat. Disappointing service all around, and I won't be returning.
Even though California is huge, many of us locals travel it often. These tourist towns forget that locals support them! I come to Carpinteria all the time. This is no way to treat anyone, local or visitor, and hanging up on a customer is completely unacceptable.

This is an modest, older, but very attractive and well-kept property. It is an excellent value. Beds were comfortable. Our room was small but thoughtfully arranged so that it didn't feel cramped. The Spanish style of the building is pretty and is a good fit for the area. The hotel is walking distance (less than half a mile) to a few good restaurants and a shopping center. It's a short drive to the beach, some walking trails, a skateboard park and a driving range.

The staff was really nice. Parking was ample. Not enough towels in the room
And no one was at the front desk at about 10:45 pm

Room was dated but did the job. Spacious enough especially with 2 king beds. Not as
Nice as Best Western or Holiday Inn Express but for the price it was an excellent option. We spent most of our time outside in the town so it worked out great!
