Baan Pomphet: A “Wow” Thai Dining Experience by the River

Baan Pomphet is a beautiful riverside restaurant along the Chao Phraya River, truly deserving its recognition in the MICHELIN Guide.
The grilled river prawns are absolutely outstanding—extremely fresh, naturally sweet, and perfectly cooked. They are served with neem leaves and sweet fish sauce, which complement the dish beautifully. This is definitely a must-try.
Another highlight was the crab curry (apologies for not recalling the exact name), but the taste was simply “wow.” Rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying—it’s the kind of dish that leaves a lasting impression.
The atmosphere is excellent, with both air-conditioned indoor seating and outdoor riverside seating available. The setting is relaxed and especially beautiful in the evening.
Service is also exceptional. The staff are friendly, attentive, and highly professional, enhancing the overall dining experience.
An outstanding dining experience with amazing food, great service, and a beautiful setting—truly worthy of its Michelin recognition.

Very good value for money and excellent cuisine

Boutique hotel very friendly by the river. The room is simple but the bedding very comfortable. Temples are 35 minutes walk or a few minutes by Grab/Tuk Tuk. Excellent cuisine in the restaurant, especially river prawns! Efficient service at reception and good level of English. I recommend this hotel.

Lunch stop

We did not stay here, but our tour group stopped here for lunch. The food was okay, but it failed to impress as a Michelin restaurant. We had better food at Sook Siam.

A calm and chic oasis in ayutthaya

An excellent hotel.
Comfortable room with good amenities and a lovely shower.
Very relaxing day bed on our outside terrace and delightful shared plunge pool.
Breakfast is superb with delightful Thai and western options.
Restaurant also very good with atmospheric terrace in the evenings.
View of the river is great for barge and boat watching.
The staff make it 5 star and were happy to book us tuk tuks every day and a taxi for onward travel.
Overall very good value

Stylish Comfort

Right on the river........comfy room with top notch shampoo etc, we always travel light and therefore we appreciate good quality, thoughtful extras in the bathroom. There's a Nespresso machine if that's your thing, but it's a juggle to make a cup of tea, however perseverance pays off. Our room was directly in front of the pool, there are only 8 rooms, I think three are at ground level which was the best spot. Dinner and breakfast were superb, the restaurant is in the Michelin Guide book; you'll love it!
Fabulous help from the front office, a lady with gorgeous hair (how is it possible in that humidity?) and excellent English looked after all our needs.
