Great personal and really spacious and nice rooms. Perfect place to stay when on a biking trip.

Basic but clean accommodation in the centre of town wiith restaurants and cafes very close by ( 1 to 5 minutes). Six minutes walk to the train and bus station. Breakfast is limited but of good quality, but only served until 9.30. Staff are unfriendly. I asked if I could leave my suitcase for 2 hours (a service shown as available) and she pulled a face and reluctantly agreed.

Friendly staff, but hotel lacks finesse

The staff of a hotel is very important, but not everything. Hotell Turistgården HAS cordial and helpful staff, but may not meet a standard to be called hotels.
Our room was located in a barracks next to the reception building in the yard. Paper-thin walls where we could actually hear the person in the next room snoring. It "bang" in the pipes as soon as someone turned a tap on or off - there must be something wrong that can perhaps be fixed? The room faced south, and gets incredibly hot! Outside our only window there was also a parking space for another guest, so when we pulled up the blind (needed for more blackout) a guest stood just outside and packed his car.
Our room was incredibly small with very few storage facilities. Bags on the floor, four hangers at the disposal of two people (far too few), a chair standing in the way by one bed made it difficult to move around the room.
Wall-to-wall carpeting feels a bit outdated, and the whole hotel exudes "no finesse," which leads me to rather designate this hotel as a hostel. However, the breakfast had surprisingly large selection, except for fruit, something I eat a lot of for breakfast normally. There were well-prepared omelettes, plenty of lactose-free products, brie cheese (my favorite), gluten-free options, good bread and quite a few different options in the total range, in short, a lot to choose from. Even warm lactose-free milk (big plus) with the coffee, which is only brewed coffee.
Breakfast in the greenery is available in the rose garden, where there is plenty of space and peace and quiet. However, most of the roses were overbloomed and cut by the end of July.
In conclusion, the Tourist Hotel is a cordial hotel with good intentions, but which does not quite meet the standard you would expect at the price.

Outstanding hotel

Arrival was easy as we got a text with information on how we find the hotel as well as parking.
We had booked the family room with two bathrooms. There was put some duftting up in the toilets, which unfortunately smells very strong. The room is not suitable for perfume allergy. There was a living room with a sofa bed. 3 beds were in the other room. The beds were fine. There was a refrigerator bag that we could use. It was a long time ago, it was cleaned, it was somewhat nasty. Otherwise it was clean and nice. There aren't many sockets. It's relatively loud.
Breakfast was fine, but there is no rough bread. Nice with lactose-free variants.
It is possible to make coffee in the foyer and take it to the room.
There's a nice rose garden you can sit in.

Small family-run hotel in the middle of Simrishamn

Nice small family-run hotel in the heart of Simrishamn. A beautiful rose garden in the backyard, with many seating places, which guests can freely use. The hotel itself carries the mark of the need for upgrading, but still a charming and very nice experience.
