Nice surroundings

Nice stay at Sundbyholm. Swimming at the beautiful beach and dinner (3 course) at the castle. Good and nicely served food. Nice staff and best of all - we got a great room! Breakfast was quite ok , but not very much to choose from .

Better than expected and great staff

We recently stayed here for a wedding and had a great time. The property is very nice and well maintained. The complementary breakfast was good and constantly topped up with food, the only issue with breakfast is the set times.
Our first suite had an issue wheee the bah leaked, however the staff moved us to a new suite which really was very nice in a main building and with a lovely library room next to us so there were no other rooms adjacent to us.
I'd highly recommend this venue for a break, the locations great, the staff were very very nice and the food was amazing.
As we were visiting for a wedding we needed to iron some shorts etc, the hotel does have an ironing room however the irons are small travel irons and not the best, however it was sufficient for our needs.
We ate dinner one evening at the property and both the main and desert really were perfect on every sense, portion size, flavour and presentation and our server Klara was very funny and had a good laugh with use.
We would be more than happy to stay here again and more than likely will.

Slottsweekend

Nice castle environment and good accommodation with fresh rooms.
Really bad food experience.
Took three course menu with recommended wine package which was not good at all. Beef tenderloin as a main course that was overcooked with mashed powder and reheated sauce.
Young ignorant staff who did not have detailed knowledge of what was served or about the wines.
Solid breakfast but with too many semi-finished products. "Juice" which is like juice and ready-made scrambled eggs as an example.
To recommend is lunch at the harbor café. Very good.

Vi är glada över att du tyckte om vår slottsmiljö och ditt hotellrum men tycker samtidigt att det är tråkigt att vi inte levde upp till dina förväntningar på maten. Våra middagar lagas alltid från grunden – potatismoset görs av färska råvaror och våra såser kokas i flera timmar för att få djup smak.
Du har rätt i att du mötte en ung och ännu oerfaren medarbetare, och vi arbetar aktivt med utbildning för att höja kunskapen kring både mat och vin.

Wedding day in magical setting

Celebrated our anniversary at the castle.
Magical environment o big plus we were upgraded to a suite for our anniversary.
Everything was really good, the only thing that was a little worse was the dinner. The appetizer buffet was almost finished, the main course was quite ok, the cheese board contained a dl of jam and about 3 x 20 grams of cheese, biscuits you had to ask for.

Stort tack för att ni valde att fira er bröllopsdag hos oss och för att ni tog er tid att skriva om ert besök. Vi blir verkligen glada att höra att ni uppskattade miljön och er uppgradering till svit – ett fint sätt att fira jubileum!
Förrättsbuffén infördes på prov i juli men vi är nu åter tillbaka till att gästerna får välja mellan olika bordsserverade förrätter. Osttallriken finns fortfarande kvar på menyn och kan väljas som ett alternativ till desserterna. Vi kallar den "tre sorters svenska gårdsostar med slottets egen marmelad och fröknäcke". Vi undviker ordet ostbricka för att det ordet ger en helt annan förväntning om storleken på de här exklusiva gårdsostarna.
Vi hoppas få möjlighet att välkomna er tillbaka och ge er en ännu bättre matupplevelse nästa gång.

Afternoon Tea

When I wanted to celebrate my birthday I thought it was a good idea to book Afternoon Tea at Sundbyholm Palace. But unfortunately it was disappointing. Disengaged staff, halfway through the sitting the scones were finished, and by the time there were 10 minutes left everything had been removed from the tables. The sitting was 1.5 hours, was just leaving the table when the time was up, then one of the staff came, and in a less pleasant way told us that our time was up. Preferably afternoon tea again, but not at Sundbyholm Castle.

Hej! Vi förstår det som att du hade önskat att sitta längre och att du kände dig ivägkörd efter 1,5 timmar. Det är förstås aldrig roligt för personalen att meddela gäster som har trevligt till bords och ibland firar något speciellt att deras tid är slut. Samtidigt ska man som gäst alltid uppleva att det görs med vänlighet och värme.
Vi erbjuder vissa lördagar Late afternoon tea kl 15/15.15 i slottsvalven, där du har precis alla de godsaker som ingår på ett ordinarie afternoon tea och dessutom dukar vi upp en matig paj, sallad och soppa (dock i nuläget 50 kr dyrare än ordinarie afternoon tea). På Late afternoon tea kan gästerna sitta kvar även efter att buffén dukats bort och har även närhet till bar. Detta är ett mycket uppskattat alternativ till slottets ordinarie afternoon tea.
