We stayed two nights and really enjoyed it.
Clean room, great bed and lovely shower in the en-suite.
Nice beer garden with great views.
Staff were friendly and efficient, brilliant breakfasts!
Would stay again.

Wonderful Country pub

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A fantastic stop after Goodwood. The pub is in a great location, with a lovely atmosphere, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
A special mention to Amy, who was outstanding. She was polite, welcoming and incredibly helpful throughout our visit, with such a warm, friendly personality. Nothing was too much trouble, and she really made the experience memorable.
Amy is a real credit to the pub, and we’ll definitely be back.

Great pub, great food, great people

12 elderly cyclists turned up for lunch on a hot and sweaty weekday halfway through an epic South Downs ride. We had warned the pub. We were treated so well, a table created on the terrace, excellent front of house management by Adam, orders taken, drinks and food faultlessly delivered, all with a warm smile and relaxed charm. The waitresses were equally professional and charming and the food was excellent. The bill was surprisingly modest and well worth it. Well done to the team, highly commended!

Just terrible food and service.

Frustrating and disappointing experience. You have to queue to get a menu (for some people in was 10 minutes in the sun) queue to order your food and PAY PLUS SERVICE then we waited 1 hour 20 minutes for food which was the toughest pork roast I’ve ever had. We chased food three times and onto on the third time did they take it seriously and actually help out.

Poor

Had a salmon niscoise which unfortunately didn't have the ingredients of a niscoise! No olives,egg,capers, anchovies only about 1 green bean chopped and a few spring onions ends and no noticeable dressing.We were lunching with friends and I didn't want to spoil the day.However this is not acceptable for a supposedly good restaurant. This is the second time we have been and both times have been disappointing we thought it was just a one off but obviously not.I think the fantastic countryside view and old pub distract customers from the poor overpriced food.
