Excellent for our golf society requirements.

Spotlessly clean, excellent communication regarding key & door codes.
Perfect for our golf society weekend, comfy beds, hot shower, clean linen & towels...probably the best budget hotel we have stayed in over a 20 year period, definitely recommended
Stapleford isn't a bustling metropolis but tha Horse & Jockey & Midland pubs were very welcoming & great pubs.

Once bitten: never again!

Cut our three nights down to two: booked two single beds, got a double and a single. The only more uncomfortable bed I’ve ever tried to sleep in was in a room behind a Chinese restaurant in Kampala during the Rwandan crisis many years ago. The double bed was better but still not great. The bathroom basin was cracked. The shower head had only one position it would stay in: at the bottom of the rod facing the wall making taking a shower distinctly different! The room was not serviced so the milk we used for coffee on our first night was not replenished.
The concept of an unmanned hotel is an interesting one: when the quality of the rooms is good. I’m afraid this is one that I shall not return to. Don’t waste your time asking for a refund on the night you cancel, even if it is within minutes of getting into your room: pre-paid bookings require three days notice of cancellation.
It would be churlish of me not to comment on the one thing that most customers will be very happy with; there is plenty of excellent off street parking.

Cheap and Clean

I chose the place for its location. It was very clean with a small bathroom. The bed was very soft and lumpy. I did find the place quiet but was staying mid week. Highlight was the Witherspoon breakfast just 5 mins walk down the road.

Noisy!

Checked out after 20 minutes because of noise and disruption caused by a large group of juvenile lads who were staying in the hotel.
I recorded the audio of the cacophony right outside my room and sent it in a text to the hotel’s mobile contact number. He called to say he’d asked the group to behave, but admitted that he didn’t normally allow group bookings to try to avoid such occurrences. We were already driving away.
It’s a Saturday night just before Christmas and if they’re behaving like this at 5pm when sober, what’s it going to be like at midnight? We moved to another local guest house despite the inconvenience and extra expense.
The manager refused to refund the booking and said that we had used the bed and shower before leaving. We hadn’t. He then insinuated that people who check in and then leave hotel rooms so quickly do so for sexual reasons! Ah, so we’d only made the booking for prostitution or to conduct an affair. Thanks for your insight.
Bring earplugs. You’ll be fine.

Disgraceful utter FILTH

Absolutely disgusting there’s no need for this level of filth when you’re taking good money from people. The mattress is covered in what looks like urine stains and the surfaces were thick with dust. No excuse!
