Nice supper with good service
A lovely early supper in a nice dining area we had lovely quality food from a very interesting menu , had startes and mains. To tip it all had lovely customer service - nice to go out and have a good experience and will be back again as soon as I am able

Beyond brilliant!
We held our son’s 18th birthday celebration at the Black Swan last weekend. We had a beautiful function room at the back all to ourselves and I can’t rate the experience highly enough. The planning was a dream thanks to Steph who was so calm and welcoming and accommodating of everything. The pub is in an amazingly central position in Devizes which was super easy to find and park. When we arrived we could not believe how beautiful the rooms were and all the staff were so incredibly friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and considering they were feeding 20 people with a number of different plates and requirements every course came out on time, fast and hot which I think is a massive achievement. All this and finally without doubt the best hotel/B&B breakfast any of us had ever had! We had a brilliant time, and felt really at home for the entire stay and they couldn’t have been kinder. Thank you Steph and the whole team at Black Swan Devizes, we will DEFINITELY be back!

Wonderful venue, exceptional service, delicious food
From the second we walked through the door, we knew this was going to be a special experience.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a real attention to detail in the ambience that made the whole place feel both relaxed and refined. We arrived earlier than planned, and despite the pub already being fairly busy, we were warmly welcomed and easily accommodated. The staff genuinely went out of their way to make us feel comfortable from the very start.
Throughout the evening we were attended to by several members of the team, and every single one of them delivered exemplary customer service. It was clear they were working seamlessly together, guided by strong management and shared values. That teamwork really elevated the entire experience and resulted in truly outstanding service.
I have an allergy, and this was handled exceptionally well. The staff took the time to explain everything carefully, showing real understanding and reassurance, which made me feel completely at ease.
Paired with beautiful wine and outstanding food, this pub has absolutely got things right in what is undoubtedly a tough world of hospitality. We left feeling thoroughly impressed and already looking forward to our next visit.
If you’re looking for a special place to eat out, we would highly recommend giving the Black Swan a try!

First class in every department !
Stayed here whilst visiting friends for the weekend. Not our first visit having eaten here 3 times in the past but our first stay over in the rooms provided.
The room was of a decent size and in keeping with the age of the property. The first thing that grabs you is the room is not what you call level with settlement over the years since it’s build making for some wonky lines but that’s part of the charm. It’s not off putting and does not cause any issues. Personally, I likes it. Well stocked bathroom with some lovely shower gels, shampoos and hand soap plus the usual tea and coffee both of which were excellent. A really nice touch, the radio on in your room when you arrive, towels rolled and placed well on the 4 poster bed (which was lovely and comfortable) and the bottles of cold water and milk in a small fridge out in the corridor for you to take as needed. Excellent thought !
Turning to the evening meal, the food here is always 10/10. Small menu but perfectly executed. Cooked to perfection, tasted great and fantastic friendly service from some first class waitresses. The staff really can make or break a place and on every visit, we’ve only got great things to say about them.
This is a fantastic place to stay and eat if you’re in the area.
10/10 on both fronts and 100% we will be staying on our next visit.

Faultless!
As an ex Hotel Director with experience in Michelin star properties, I am so pleased to have such a brilliant dining room on my doorstep - within a short walk!
Another superb meal last night. The quality of craftsmanship in the kitchen comes through on all the dishes the three of us chose.
Haggis croquettes; haddock arancini; spicy chicken wings, all with great flavour and dips. What a start!
We followed this with chicken schnitzel on roasted sriracha sprouts, duck fat hash browns, buffalo sauce and buttermilk mayo.
Perfectly cooked pork chop, so tender still with a hint of pink. Silky smooth pommes purée, grilled hispi with fennel , a great combo.
Excellent rib eye with a fab peppercorn sauce. Crisp chips and an amazing salad packed with flavour.
To finish a slice of delicious treacle tart and of course the indulgent chocolate brownie.
The expertise from the kitchen shines through.
Great service as well from the young team.
