Best bistro around.

Brilliant stay. Can’t recommend enough, I went there a while back and been meaning to leave this review. Great food and comfy beds. Perfect.

stayed & ate

Stayed in January. Nice large room overlooking the main road at the front. I was worried about road noise but, actually, it wasn’t too bad ……except a beer delivery to the pub across the road at 06.00 rolling barrels which, obviously, is not TFDL fault.
We were on time – 15.00 or so – and would have sat and drank in the ‘lounge’ and/or bar area except-----it’s not a lounge and is not comfortable and the bar only has a few high stools and it was occupied (it is small) by workmen. We felt uncomfortable. The small ‘lounge’ area just needs more cosy armchairs/sofas not bar stools etc. So we went elsewhere. But maybe they do focus on local beer trade ? In which case it's a bar next to a small restaurant rather than a restaurant with a bar/lounge.
But food and service for dinner was very good as was breakfast service. Breakfast was OK but there was an error with mine but not worth making a fuss about and the waiter did apologise.
I would definitely eat here again.

Highly recommend if you are in to French style and cuisine.

Despite our Sat Nav misbehaving the additional travelling time was well worth our one night stay. Charming host, small but lovely bedroom en suite with extremely comfortable king size bed, beautifully furnished and decorated etc. Food also first class (though the soufflé texture is more of a fondue texture than a frothy mousse) and very pleasant service. Felt like I was staying in the French countryside. Exceptionally good value. What’s not to like!c

The most amazing place

What a delightful bistro restaurant / boutique Hotel in a lovely country setting. We enjoyed the most relaxing 2 night stay. The bedroom, very French, so pretty with a very comfortable bed and Pillows, top quality toiletries and a lovely touch with bottled water (glass bottles) and little french madeline cakes. The bar area had a lovely atmosphere and the little courtyard garden was perfect. As for the restaurant, the food was divine, both dinner and breakfast, nothing to fault at all. From the moment we stepped inside to a very friendly welcome to the minute we left, the staff were amazing.

A lovely visit

We had a one night stay at the beautiful Fleur de lys .
The bedroom was so pretty with an extremely large and comfortable bed.
The decor is authentically French with outstanding attention to detail.
Immaculately clean !
We had dinner in the restaurant , which was also faultless.
You can see why this place is so popular with the local community as it has such a relaxed atmosphere but offers such brilliant service plus the cosy log fire in the lounge .
Would definitely return if we re visit the area again
