A great break in the mountains
We had a wonderful short break near Jérica, with our bikes, getting to know both the town and quite an extensive area around, as we cycled the Ojos Negros greenway first up into the hills, and then the opposite way.
A major contribution to the pleasure of our stay was the wonderful welcome we had at Sharíqa. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, the setting is glorious (with a fabulous view of the town), and the breakfasts are memorable. Anna and Vicente are wonderful hosts, and did everything they could to make our stay easy and pleasant. For instance, we came with electric bikes, and they twice laid out an extension lead for us to re-charge them, as well as offering us a plastic sheet to cover them, which was far more than we had any right to demand of them.
All in all, a great stay, in a lovely place, with fine people. Strongly to be recommended.
One thing to bear in mind: follow Anna's instructions to get there exactly. Our GPS tried to take us through completely impassable mountain paths. We should have followed her advice from the start, and it was a mistake not to do so...

Outstanding Stay
We travel a lot and this place is an amazing find. Half way up a mountain the view of the village Jérica is outstanding. We had been let down by a hotel booking and at short notice (30mins) our host had prepared our beautiful room.
The breakfast was out of this world. Their handmade cakes yummy and her original homemade jams unusual and delicious.
Our hosts were kind, charming and happy.
We loved this place, peaceful and quiet.. the perfect getaway.
I heartily recommend this place. Everything was tasteful and perfect. Better than any five star hotel!

'A Nice Place''
On our bicycle trip down to Valencia we stayed in this nice bed and breakfast. The host, Anna, was very friendly and helpful. We had our dinner in the adjacent little town of Jerica. It turned out to be a great walk through the countryside after a long day of cycling. Anna gave us detailed directions and torches so we could find our way back in the darkness. The breakfast next morning was served with everything under the sun including a very delicate buttermilk homemade yogurt. The morning view from the house over the valley was exceptional. All in all a very nice place.

Very worthwhile # Zeer de moeite waard
The B&B, Shariqua, is on an hour distance from Valencia.
It is located on a North mountain slope belonging to San Antón and is facing the village Jérica from every guestroom. It is not easy to reach. Once there, Anna makes you feel comfortable in your spacious room or the lounge. On two more suspects it is a oasis: when one looks for tranquility and when one likes to hike or wander.
And don't forget to order at least one supper so you can recognize Anna's coocking, more than a hobby.
We stayed there for two nights on a raodtrip from Barcelona to Valencia.

An excellent place from which to explore the area
We had two weeks at the delightful Sharíqua. The views across Jérica and the Alto Palancia from our room and the dining room were stunning. Anna looked after us in a friendly way, providing a homely environment with personal touches and good food. She helped us decide on places to visit and gave her own directions for interesting walks.
The access road is not for the faint-hearted, but fine when you get used to it. The locality is great - lots of interesting mountain villages and towns that are not "touristy", yet within easy reach of the cosmopolitan city of Valencia - well worth several visits.
Sharíqua would suit those people who wish to explore an interesting and exciting area and enjoy a peaceful break (and do not want the intrusion of television or the internet). It definitely comes under the heading of "away from it all" but at the same time is not too remote. It is a delight to mix with friendly local people (who rarely have much English and are more than happy to help you develop your Spanish skills!).
We have no hesitation in recommending Sharíqua; Anna did her best to ensure that we were comfortable and felt at home.
