Super friendly and authentic. Run by a local family. Good rooms and beds but bad soundproofing since its an old building.

It is an establishment families with excellent treatment, everything was perfect, exceeded our expectations, we will return safely.

Place to rest your head

This is a place to rest your head, the rooms are basic, I think this has been said by others. Situated in the old part of town the streets are narrow so parking is up near the church (Parroquia de Llivia) Car Park - 42.465209, 1.982599.
Its cheap enough but I would not want to stay a week, one or two days is enough.
So wandering around Llivia, which is nice, but appears to close at 8pm!
We like to eat late and so we struggled to find a place eat when we wanted it. So after wandering around trying to find somewhere we ended up eating in the hotel.
The meal was nice and tasted, so was worth eating, breakfast was also okay, a good starter to the day.

It's a Hostal not a 5 star hotel

I've seen a few negative reports about Hostal Ruso and they are entirely unjustified in my opinion. It is a charming, rustic hostal in the centre of town. The food is wholesome and cheap and while the owner may come across as not the most customer friendly person in the world, guess what? She doesn't have to be because the hostal and restaurant were full of happy customers. Where else can you get a three course meal for two with half a litre of wine for 20 Euros? If you expect 5 star luxury you are living in cloud cuckoo land. It's a lovely simple little place in a charming little town.

No lift,bad stairs,but cheap

Been here a few times,purely because of the price.
The rooms are basic,the bathroom has improved with a new shower cubicle.
The main problem is the two flights of outside metal stairs.No lift,and can be very slippery when wet.Carrying luggage up and down these is a big problem with full cases.
