Lack of management
Wanted to stay in this area as had been close by at Bahia Azul. Opted for here through Serviden, via Booking .com. Biggest mistake we made. The one star is for the area and the grounds of the complex. They are fine and the grounds etc are well kept. We picked the keys up at Serviden office as instructed, 5kms from complex. As you read this, you will be asking why we didn't move? Tried but nothing available at such short notice, unfortunately. Very little information given, in fact thinking about it, the only info was how to get there and how to get in the gate. On arrival, things looked okay, a bit further out than anticipated, but fine. Complex looked okay, but quiet. We were only apartment being used at this time on our block so felt a bit uneasy but got used to it. Inside the apartment, well that is when things went downhill dramatically. Had to fight to get into the apartment as the lock had a certain way to get it to work. Obviously, previous occupiers had similar problem as damage was evident to door jamb. Got used to it over the days. On entering, first thing we noticed was the damage to one of the seats. The cushion was ripped badly and unusable. Kitchen area could have done with a major clean up. Grill unit rusty and had to be cleaned before any food went anywhere near it. Cutlery the same. Newish hob unit. Plates and glasses were random sets of anything and plates were greasy. No wine glasses. Very little matched and seemed random numbers within sets. Bathroom: shower curtain mouldy at bottom, bought new one at €4.50!;some towels stained and not used; only one toilet roll; couldn't use shower in wall socket as it was not adjustable and toilet pan obviously had never seen any kind of cleaning product. Bedroom: sheets and top cover stained as were the pillows. Doubled up on pillow covers etc for the duration. Main light in bedroom was unsafe and had loose wiring. No instructions on anything in the apartment. Had to guess how to operate shutters, okay they were easy; television, very basic channel selections and kitchen hob. Drove back to Serviden who were not the least bit interested about most of the complaints, but did relent and offer us an electrician for the light. Had to go back to the apartment and wait, albeit only 25mins, for the electrician who repaired the faulty wiring with no complaints and was in fact very efficient. Spent most of the time outside anyway and when we were in the apartment sat outside on balcony which had a great view overlooking the beach. No sun hits this balcony. When giving the keys back, the management staff, and use the word management loosely, were not the least bit concerned and used the don't understand route to their advantage. Strangely understood about the lighting problems earlier though! They obviously have no method of checking their properties re cleanliness etc and to be honest this property should not even be offered for rental. Will never use Serviden again and ask that you check before thinking about it yourself.
