Nice, clean hotel in a stunning town

I needed a place for an overnight stay on my way from Germany to Italy and wanted to utilize the Bernina pass. Welcome to Chur!
Location: This hotel is a cool 10-minute walk from the train station. It's uphill but, even with me pulling two pieces of packed hand luggage, it was easy... and then an even easier downhill ride on the way back. It's centrally located in just THE most picturesque little town.
Cleanliness: Germaphobe here! I always do a wipe down of high touch areas, and especially the bathroom. I found no visible residue!
Value: Reasonable, based on Swiss pricing.
Noise: Quiet. A river runs through the town and immediately behind this hotel. It is very loud, but you will never know that once you're inside with the windows closed.
Breakfast: Good. A variety of breads, cheeses, protein and juices. I'm not a breakfast eater, but thought I'd try it, especially with the long train ride ahead.
There was an issue with the train on the way there and I arrived late so was unable to explore the town. That was very disappointing as this town is just picture perfect! I would love to go back and I will definitely stay at this hotel when I do.

We will not return!

An open glass door to the bathroom is an absolute "no go," and therefore the hotel does not receive a better rating.
Had this been known beforehand, the booking would never have been made there. Very warm in the room, as the windows must remain closed due to the noise. Breakfast, corresponding to the category, was rather simple. We will not return!

Wonderful; but homepage not ideal for reservation ...

Reservation system of the hotel directly requires "Switzerland" input after passing through all countries from Afghanistan - other systems are better, first belongs CH, then DE/AT etc ... manual input "Switzerland..." impossible! Payment by credit card only, instead of TWINT or Postcard. Cost them more expenses - it's easier via booking.com but worse for the hotel!!

Great location and spacious rooms

Nice , clean and friendly hotel very location just across the street with Old City. Spacious room and friendly service . Very well recommended

Hostess was absolutely wonderful and helpful.

We experienced concerning weather for Florida drivers (iced over one lane road going up a mountain) and did not feel comfortable traveling to the place we had reserved. In a pinch, late in the evening we tried the Hotel Chur to see if they had any rooms available. The receptionist was an absolute dream. We were able to get their last room. She kept apologizing because it had not yet been remodeled as most the others had been. She showed us to the parking garage and walked us to our room. The room was great. It was very clean. The bed was so comfy. Linens white and spotless. The bathroom small (most European ones are) but the shower was great and roomy. She mapped out several different restaurants to walk to for a late supper and was simply helpful in every way. It was also situated in a great area for our needs. She ended what had been a not so great day with a good experience. I would definitely stay there again the next time I’m in Chur.
