Cute place

Cute little boutique hotel, no pool though, that’s the downside of booking here. Beds were comfy but the room was not super clean. We needed to clean the toilet after check in ourselves and the floor was gritty. Area felt safe and close to town for walking. Breakfast was better than a few I’ve had on our Panamá stay. Check in is late, 3 pm is not great for early flights since there is no pool to hang out in. All in all it was a nice stay

We forgot a bag. When we came back to get it some money was stolen from it. We report it to the reception, but probably they stolen it.

Good location, but much to improve

We stayed at the Hotel Ladera in Boquete at the beginning of March. While its location is quite convenient—just across the bridge to reach the village center on foot—the overall experience left much to be desired.
Rooms and general hotel status:
The hotel has a policy of limiting occupancy to three adults per room, even those with a queen bed and a double bed, which feels unnecessarily restrictive considering the space available. Upon entering, you notice that the hotel has not been remodeled in a long time: the rooms and corridors feel dusty, with presence of dirt and lack of general maintenance. Only two pillows are provided per bed, which is also insufficient for a comfortable experience.
Breakfast:
The included breakfast was one of the biggest disappointments. Extremely basic, with just one or two protein options and the same for carbohydrates. The menu does not vary significantly between days; they hardly change any accompaniment. Although it is included, we chose to have breakfast outside after the first day as we did not consider it worthwhile.
Restaurant:
The restaurant has hours that it does not always meet, as sometimes it closes earlier due to lack of staff. We had lunch there once; the food took between 30 and 40 minutes to arrive, but the prices were reasonable and the taste acceptable.
Check out from the hotel:
Upon check-out, staff inspect the room before allowing you to leave. Although they mention that it’s to make sure you don’t leave forgotten objects, the experience can feel uncomfortable and unhospitable.
Conclusion:
The Hotel Ladera has its strategic location, which allows you to leave the vehicle parked and move on foot through the center of Boquete. However, the overall condition of the facilities, the quality of the breakfast and certain internal policies mean that I would not recommend it as a good value option for its price. I would give it a 2 star rating.
