I became very aware of my American biases based on my first impression. But I quickly found out what a beautiful authentically Japanese experience this was.
It’s hard to get there, but if you find the right bus line, you can get from Fukuyama station all the way up to the national park. The property is older and a bit dated, but it just feels historical to me.

Had a great stay for the night. Dinner and breakfast were awesome! We were fortunate to see the beautiful sunset upon arrival from our room. Strongly recommended to book the room with both sunset and sunrise view. Would recommend anyone who self drive to checkout this place.

This is a hotel on the mountain with good views from the rooms and a comfortable public bath and sauna. The food is also delicious. At night, you can see the night view of Setouchi when you turn off the lights and lie on your bed.

Not easy to get there as the hotel is situated on a hill, not meant to reach without driving. It is also an old hotel and relatively small room for such tenor, excellent view is the trade-off
