Great ryokan

This was a high end ryokan built around 1960, very well designed. It's large (rooms on 4 floors) but still quiet and private. Many of the photos as of February 2025 show a the tall buildings of the town of Hanamaki - this hotel is NOT one of those, it is newer, smaller, private and a short distance from the main town. I would absolutely stay there again.

The food and the baths are excellent.

The food and baths were excellent. The food was delicious, and the portions were just right. The bath was also nice, with a thick, creamy water and an open-air bath with a view of the pine trees in the garden. The amenities were also plentiful, with towels and bath towels provided in the bath, so you could go to the bath empty-handed. This was also great.

Simply Heaven

Possibly the best experience I have ever had staying at a hotel.
The ambiance when you walk in is peaceful and almost spiritual. The room I had was apartment sized with its own onsen and dining room for which we had a 9 course dinner served to us as well as breakfast the following morning. We had our own assistant who looked after us every step of our stay.
The hotel had amazing central garden with snow covered forest surrounding which made it even more cosy. I decided to use the in house onsen to try the larger hot pools which was equally relaxing as our in room smaller one.
The food, service and experience was out of this world and highly recommended.

It was a great satisfaction

We stayed for two nights in a room with a semi-open-air bath as a birthday present for my daughter. The large public bath and room amenities were all there, and we could go to the large public bath empty-handed, so we were very satisfied with the service. The portions were just right and we were able to eat slowly in the room, and since breakfast wasn't crowded, we were able to eat slowly in the quiet. I felt that the hair dryer in the room could be as convenient as the one in the large public bath, but I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

Please have a rich breakfast too!

The room was very nice with a twin bed and a half open-air bath, and I was very satisfied. I was satisfied with the dinner, which was served in the room and enjoyed it at a leisurely pace.
But I was surprised at the breakfast!! I couldn't stand the poor quality of the food that was prepared, even though we weren't on a group tour. The food was dreary and there was nothing I wanted to eat. What do you think about a 38,000 yen accommodation fee? Are you being conceited by the name Kashoen? I would like you to improve a lot of things.
The scores in the reviews are too high.
