A gem of the island without sunset
Title: A gem of the island without sunset ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
For over twenty years I have chosen Marettimo for my September holidays, and the Residence Marettimo has become my reference point. It is an oasis of peace immersed in a lush, fragrant and well-kept garden, to which I return every year with immense pleasure.
The island has a unique character: the dark mountain that leaves the village in the shade already in the afternoon has earned it the name of “island without sunset” for me. An absence that weighs heavily, but at the same time is a metaphor for its severe charm. Just look the other way to discover the spectacular dolomite walls, almost dolomites on the sea, that make the island unforgettable.
Marettimo does not offer great services, and this is precisely what preserves its authenticity: no traffic, just a few electric cars, bikes and scooters that animate the streets. On the other hand, the sea is truly extraordinary: level snorkeling, intact seabed and sea caves that can be visited with local boats, in the heart of the largest marine reserve in Europe.
In this context, the Residence is a real gem: white buildings immersed in a hortus conclusus that allows you to experience the island in the most serene and authentic way. I recommend it to those who want to know Marettimo in its most beautiful dimension, between nature, sea and silence.

4 stars once!! Maybe...
Residence dated both in the studios and in the common areas. Very basic furniture and kitchen accessories - pan, saucepan, bowl, teaspoons, cups, colander -missing, you have only one cutlery per person and then if I use it for cooking then I have to wash it to eat!! Upon arrival the fridge flooded with water that is compared to previous guests turned off but not clean!! Then you go down to the village to buy sponges and scottex that are not supplied, as there is not a minimum of dish soap supplied. But it doesn't end there: oil in the open kitchen, water for a fee - which I had to bring to the room alone - to be consumed preferably by February 2025, on arrival hair everywhere on the floor and fan blades not working, towel change delivered not bagged. In the pool dirty and dated pillows and ditto deck chairs and umbrellas on the beach!! Dear Sir. Augusto - for the basil provided - do hospitality is another thing, especially when it is charged for a night that you have not used!! But when you have a monopoly you take advantage of the location. Anyway congratulations and merits to the kind and smiling Martina!

The Marettimo Residence is well suited for active people. The property is large and walking back and forth to our room was a bit of a challenge for us. We did come away from our stay with more stamina and agility in the short time we were there. Martina contacted us through WhatsApp and came to get our bags from liberty lines. Martina also went above and beyond trying to help us find some relatives who we heard lived on Marettimo. The morning breakfast was so nice! We went off season so no hot tub or pool. Loved having a little kitchen and a back deck.

well maintained apartment complex
Small apartment complex. The complex is really nicely landscaped with a garden and pool area (smaller pools for 2-4 people).
Also the apartments were largely clean and well maintained. You had a small terrace for yourself to linger on. The rooms were cool and functional. Since the town of Marettimo is not very large, the paths to the supermarket or the port are not far.
The service was also fine. However, breakfast includes only one drink, each additional must be paid. Too bad, because this was due to guests who do not know any measure.

beautiful location overlooking the airport
On Recommendation of friends, we stayed for a few days at this property. The apartment that was assigned to us, was on a first floor with east exposure, sea view, allowed us to see the sunrise every morning, comfortably sitting on the terrace. Good breakfast, served in the garden.

We did not use the pool or even the hot tub but they are located in a particularly beautiful area of the residence.
