I experienced all the stars: the attention to the guest, the relaxed smiles, the willingness to find solutions.

Disappointment in Hilton Como

Beautiful Views, but Service Fell Short of Expectations
The hotel’s location is adequate, and its standout feature is undoubtedly the beautiful view from the rooftop pool and restaurant. The scenery is lovely and offers a wonderful perspective of Lake Como.
However, the hotel is not especially convenient for shopping or exploring on foot. There are no stores or shops immediately nearby, and you need to walk approximately 15–20 minutes east or west to find more activity. Alternatively, you must rely on taxis or buses to get around.
As Hilton Gold/Diamond members, we were disappointed that there was no Executive Lounge or comparable lounge service available. Given Lake Como’s reputation for luxury, sophistication, and elegance, we expected a higher level of service for elite members. During our three-night stay, we received a voucher for three drinks, but this did not feel like a meaningful substitute for the lounge experience we have enjoyed at other Hilton properties.
The most disappointing aspect of our stay, however, was the bellman service. The bellmen were not attentive. When we were leaving, we had to carry our own luggage to the taxi. Three bellmen were standing nearby and chatting, yet none offered to assist with our bags. This was particularly disappointing for a hotel positioned as a luxury property.
Overall, the views and rooftop facilities are beautiful, but the service did not match the level of luxury and sophistication we expected. The lack of attention from the bell staff and the absence of Executive Lounge benefits for Gold/Diamond members significantly affected our experience.

A disappointing stay

Stayed at the Hilton Como for 3 nights during which we received a very mixed level of customer service and which overall was not to the standard we expected
Arrival was a great experience from the whole front of house team, warm & friendly, the offer of a drink, then on to our room which was spacious and well presented adding to a great first impression
Evening 1, we visited the rooftop bar which has stunning views over the lake, but unfortunately the service was disappointing. No one initially offering to serve us, having to constantly chase our drinks and even having to chase the bill.
(we made the hotel aware of this directly on the night)
Day 2 (my birthday) started well during which I received little gestures from the hotel which were all greatly appreciated and positive touches.
Our first breakfast also started well with a plentiful selection of offerings from the buffet.
Unfortunately the presentation of a bill thrown down on the table before we left against our prepaid breakfast was extremely annoying.
Evening 2 dined in the rooftop restaurant Terazza 241 and the service and quality of food was excellent. Staff were all friendly, efficient and our server provided us with a great experience suggesting perhaps that the drinks experience was a one off.
Unfortunately this didn’t last and having stayed for a cocktail, both of these were incorrectly made.
Breakfast 2
An unacceptable experience with us not being offered any tea or coffee, twice having to ask for these and then them finally being brought and dumped on the table with a dismissive attitude with the order not even correct. A supervisor did later approach us to offer of an apology which was appreciated but by then our breakfast had already been ruined.
Our final breakfast day 3 was vastly improved with the supervisor from the previous day looking after us and with a slightly changed staff seemed far more organised and which delivered the enjoyable breakfast to be expected
The Hotel Location whilst a little out of town is only 2 minutes from the lakeside path and provides a lovely scenic walk to the town in around 20 minutes with plenty of shade for those hottest days
In summary the Hilton Lake Como is a lovely hotel in a great location however the level of customer service during our stay was very inconsistent and as noted above falls below the overall standard to be expected.
We would therefore on balance not recommend staying at this hotel given the multiple other options within Como.

Ideal hotel in Como

Although the hotel is not located directly on the lake, it is a few minutes' walk from the lake and about a 15-minute walk from the city center. In this respect, a recommendation for anyone looking for a hotel in Como.
The hotel is large, excellently managed, and has very spacious rooms.
Recommendation: book a room with a lake view!
Staff etc. Friendly and professional
as is to be expected from Hilton. Definitely book a table on the rooftop terrace for one evening. Breathtaking view of the lake and the city of Como in the evening. Unfortunately, the dinner did not meet our expectations. Solid and good. But nothing more or less, so it is better to visit recommended restaurants by the lake for other evenings.

Perfection.

4-star hotel largely worthy of a 5-star, even if the prices are those of a 5-star.
The hotel dates from 2018 and is like new.
Nothing negative to say, everything was perfect.
Of course, first the magnificent view of Lake Como from the rooftop with infinity pool, restaurant, and bar.
I think it's the only hotel with such a view.
Then the quality of the high-end services: service, attentive staff, spa, etc.
The 2 restaurants are very good, even if, of course, the prices are high.
Breakfast was also a surprise.
Unlike many hotels in Italy, the products are of very good quality, varied, and with changes every day, which is more appreciable for a long stay.
The only small downside is the distance from the city center; it takes a good 25 minutes to walk, but the hotel is really worth it.
