Great place!

I honestly don’t understand why Pison hotel doesn’t get higher ratings. We had a perfect 4 night stay there with our family of 5. We arrived from the north (after having traveled all the way from Manado region, via Gorontalo, Togeans and Tentena), where accommodation is much more basic than what can be found in Toraja. Pison is a nice and quiet hotel. We loved our two spacious and clean rooms in Pison. They came with A/C, clean sheets, blankets, balcony and hot showers. The staff was incredibly friendly. Breakfast was not included in the price, but the menu offered a wide range of choices. We had breakfast at the hotel every day and it was always very good. We left our luggage in the hotel when we went on a two day trekking in northern Toraja, and upon our return we could use a room for a few hours to refresh before taking the sleeper bus to Makassar (at no charge). We used the laundry service twice; it was excellent. We also rented scooters at the hotel, which was perfect too. So, don’t be fooled: Pison is a very good place to stay!

Time for a renovation

There were some good things. The lady who owns the place is friendly and when we asked to change rooms, this could be arranged quikly. There were also no cockroaches, so it was kind of clean. But the bathroom was grose. There was fungus. You can't put the showerhose anywhere high. The toilet wouldn't flush. There are also guides hanging around trying to get you to book a tour with them, which made us feel kind of uncomfortable and the staff doesn't make them leave. The hotel is noisy. In the middle of the night people were leaving and they were honking the horn of the car. So you can go there if you want, but don't expect too much.

It's kind of OK

Nothing special honestly.
+they offer food ( we didn't try it so I can not say how it is)
+ prices of food are only a bit higher than outside of the hotel
+there is ONE lady from the staff that's speaks English
+They offer rental of motorbikes (BUT just on the main road in front of the hotel is another rental places with much better motorbikes at the same price! Here everything is broken)
+close to the center
+BIG PLUS FOR HOT WATER
+there are towels, soap and toilet paper
+u have your own balcony, at least we had
-hotel doesn't look nice
-a lot od mosquitos - no proper windows, so take mosquito net to hang above your bed (oh another +,there is a hanger above your bed for the net but u have to have your own one)
-just opposite you have guesthouse pia's poppies where the price for the room is the same and there is much nicer! Check it before u book this one!

disappointing

We arrived to the hotel around 4am after all night driving from Makassar. Entrance was closed, none was waiting for us, no staff avaliable to check us in althoug we had room reservation and informed about time of arrival. Finally I got inside, opened main door and took a key for room for 2 which wasn't occupied. Room was very basic (all hotel is basic and need some repairs or refreshing) but not very expensive. We stayed there only one night. In this hotel you can find coffee roster - coffee is delicious, worth to buy for using at home.

The quieter and cheaper neighbour of pie's poppies

The first two nights I stayed at pie's poppies and than moved to Pison hotel. Its a simple but great place. Its clean and the rooms are spacious. The service is much better than at pia's poppies. Food that they serve is good, they can help you with bus tickets and you'll be picked up next to the hotel. They rent out motorbikes. Great place and cheaper than the neighbours and quieter,
