Greek hospitality at its best

I love Greek islands, I have many positive experiences with Greek people, but this was far the best experience I have ever had in the last 18 years.
The owner Mrs. Evangelia is one of the nicest and kindest people I have ever met. She was trying to make us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived to the moment when we left. She offered us some drinks and a toast on the arrival, she arranged a very cheap and reliable rented car, a taxi, the large and well appointed room was immaculately clean, she prepared excellent breakfasts, she treated us with a home grown watermelon and on the last day she gave us as a gift bag full of home grown tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. I had many long conversations with her which I really enjoyed.
This is Greece at its best.

Great value

Great value and very kind warm hosts. The apartment is about 10 minutes walk from the beach and the bus stop to Naxos town. Clean, basic and so very good. Hosts are very helpful. Beds are fine and bedclothes are changed regularly. Kitchen utilities are basic. Still highly recommended.

Off the beach track studio

Right off the bat - you will need wheels to get to the beaches and generally about the island. The bus service to Chora is excellent nevertheless so but you do need to be on the beach to enjoy this service. The nearest beaches are soft, golden sands, clear aqua water, some parts even naturist - ! - and very clean: as well as loads of organised beaches (umbrellas and sun beds).
The studios themselves are in a quiet, more rural area and are comfortable and exceptionally clean. Unfortunately we can't remember our host's name, but she is absolutely delightful, generous and kind: despite our lack of Greek language, we managed with lots of "ok" and smiles.
Our stay was more than ok - we were able to have a load of laundry done and enjoyed complimentary garden fresh tomatoes, cucumber and peppers from the gardens.
Thank you for your warmth and care during our stay.
We do recommend a stay at Mateus Studios - you can hear the sea from your terrace and it was charming to see garden sprinklers in action! As we haven't seen sprinklers for years.

vacation

very nice place for quiet holidays. only 10' walking to the beach or 4' driving. there are several beach bars and restaurants nearby. very kind staff and helpful. clean place and rooms. plenty space for car parking

Nice, clean and spacious

Our room (No 9) was spacious, had beautiful sea view and a large balcony. We stayed only for one night but it was enough for us to want to come again. The kitchen was fully equipped (sink, cooking pot, pan, plates, etc), even with a dining table, there was a TV and A/C. The bathroom is clean. The lady owner is polite and helpful.
The property has free parking (having a car or a motorcycle is recommended), large public spaces, even a small kids playground.
Plaka beach is nearby, in somewhat walking distance.
