Very good, simple and couple very welcoming restaurateurs.

This restaurant, nestled in a small village, is run by a couple of warm and welcoming restaurateurs. We ate very well there.
At 7pm, on this Saturday night of school holidays, despite the rain, there were four people in the room. It is the very low season. The menu of the day, at €17, offered two choices of appetizers: an excellent cured meat from countries, as well as a crust pie served warm, very tasty. The dishes were well prepared: roast beef and pork sauté, accompanied by a gratin of cauliflower and steamed potatoes, all generously served.
For dessert, we opted for panna cotta with a creamy and tasty apricot soup. The meal was accompanied by local sparkling water and a perfectly correct red wine from Ardèche.
The value for money is excellent. If you enjoy traditional cuisine, simple, and composed of good products, do not hesitate to stop there!

Good surprise Little restaurant found on our way

I recommend this small restaurant for the very friendly welcome, the cuisine is homemade simple but very good and very good value Award. Thank you we had a nice time for lunch. It was a nice surprise!

Good address

Establishment located in a small village in Puy de Dôme, easy to access, excellent welcome, ample parking. Simple but comfortable room. Clean and well-kept hotel. Local and quality cuisine. Well done.

Traditional

Great place for adults - not so sure for two 15 year old lads though. Agree totally with the comments made by Julia F and no point in repeating what she says here, as they are accurate to a T!
I've a little French and they do speak a little Anglais so the language wasn't a problem, however if you have no French, the dinner could be an issue as there is no menu, you have pretty much what the owners have!
Finally, and it's a problem in the Auvergne country regions - the flies are a real nuisance in the summer - it's like the western Australian outback at times, but with better scenery.

Amazing Hospitality and Dinner

Our family of four stayed here last July and all of us thought it was great. It is located in an incredibly tiny, quaint, village nestled in the hills. There is not much to see in Saurier other than the natural beauty, but we were road weary and it provided a wonderful one-night respite.
We stayed in a family room. It wasn't fancy, but the beds were comfortable and it was impeccably clean. Despite a bit of a language barrier, our host and hostess couldn't have been more hospitable. We opted to have dinner there, which was a great decision! We were served a country French meal in a lovely dining room - spectacularly tasty and truly memorable!
