Absolutely perfect
What a wonderful time we had here.
We had stayed before for just one night and never had a chance to fully take it in but we stayed a bit longer this time and we really felt most welcome in this house.
The hosts are great, very accommodating and friendly. They do a really good job of catering for guests and running their own lives.
From the street you would have no idea what beautiful greenery lies behind the house. It's a huge garden dedicated to nature, you could sit there for hours.
Breakfast was great, with pastries from the local artisan bakery, great coffee and preserves.
For us, it was a perfect couple of days in a beautiful place. You can feel the stress disappearing.
You will arrive and notice the lack of wifi and decent phone signal but once you leave you will be extremely grateful for the chance to disconnect.
We also took their advice and went to the local zoo, which was fantastic. Perfect for a small family.
Thanks to the Frank family for looking after us so well.
If you are looking for somewhere to discover real France and unwind, this is the perfect place and these are perfect hosts.

18 kms are nothing.....
We enjoyed our stay at B&B La Campagne. St Hubert is a little village 18 kms NE of Metz. It's location gives you the opportunity of visiting the vibrant city of Metz, with its nice quarters (Place St Louis ! Esplanade ! Covert Market!..), its impressive Lantern of God , but also the opportunity for nice promenades, for visits to the border region(Chateau Malbroek,Maginot Line..) to the Lac of Mdine and the Battle fields of Verdun, but also to the Nice Fruit Gardenproject near Metz. Nathalie and Christian, their children (and their dogs) are very friendly and helpful We had a very comfortable stay in a very nice room(Le Jardinier) ad enjoyed the quitness, the breakfast, the talks and even the woodpecker...

In the country outside Metz
This is a great B&B about 18km NE of Metz. Don't try and get here without a car, but if you are doing a driving vacation in this part of France it makes for a great one night stay and an opportunity to get out of the cities. We stayed in the garden room, a large room on the ground floor with attached en-suite facilities and access to a lovely sitting room with couch and TV. We had shopped for cheeses, pate, bread and a very nice bottle of Cote de Rhone at a Metz supermarket. Our hosts provided plates, glasses and cutlery and we had a picnic dinner inside this glassed in sitting area as a thunderstorm went by outside - delightful. Breakfast next morning was very good - fresh baguette, homemade jams and excellent coffee.

A truly hidden gem!
En route to La Campagne, we realised that we would be staying a good 15-20 mins from Metz itself, but we needn't have been concerned. The beautifully-designed house is in a lovely, very small village. You are welcomed in via the amazing sloping garden,which our baby very much enjoyed crawling about in. The room itself (the garden room) was HUGE - massive bedroom, and separate walk in shower, toilet and sink rooms, amazing. Best of all was the glazed sitting area/room next to the bedroom that was for us to use - very handy when you can't really go out in to town for dinner because your baby needs to be in bed! We had a great takeaway pizza and wine sitting out in the sunny garden, and the next morning an amazing breakfast in our hosts' living area. We left the next day for a trip in to Metz itself feeling very pleased that we had decided to venture away from the city centre (although Metz itself is well worth a visit, it's a great place to walk around and sight-see, even on a Sunday when lots of the town is closed). Thanks for a perfect stay.

perfecte ontspannende stop tijdens doorreis
Verbleven hier 1 nacht op weg naar Zuid Frankrijk. Ideaal met twee kinderen en 2 volwassenen. Aparte ruimte om s avonds te ontspannen, naast ook nog een keuken.
Schoon, prima bedden en erg vriendelijke gastheren.
