Right by the station!

The Hôtel de la Gare is located directly opposite the train station. There is also good free parking here. The man at the reception was very friendly. The room was ok but very basic and noisy. The breakfast buffet was small but good.

Bad boss and not nice animals accepted on the site but not in real , keep your hotel.... never again of life.

Renovated room

The rooms have been renovated and the image of tripavisor are not updated very good welcome and good breakfast. Canal + and free well sport, great flexibility for late arrivals with secure access, very nice river side room

One nights stay over.

We picked this hotel whilst traveling to Ancona to catch the ferry to Greece. We were going to go over the Col de Cenis from Modane and down into Susa Staying in Piacenza and Rimini on our way to Ancona. When booking it on Hotels. com, it described the room as having an onsuite well it's a good job we had only booked for the night. We arrived about 3pm and we're met by a very smartly dressed lady we introduced ourselves me and my wife and were given our room key we went up to the room which was on the front of the hotel it was a bit dark but looked clean so we put our bags on the floor and proceeded to look round when I saw what they described as an onsuite. Next to the bed was a big Plastic Box which turned out to be the shower next to that was a curtain which had a toilet behind it and at the side of that was a sink. When we had used the shower we got dressed and went a walk round Modane to find somewhere to eat. On our return after finding the main light switch we saw that the room had black mould on the ceiling around the window quite a big patch of it and the walls seemed grubby next morning when we got up there was water on the floor so I had to put one of the towels on it on further inspection it looked like the drain pipe from the sink was leaking water into the room either from the shower or sink. We packed our things went for breakfast hoping that was going to be better. There were a few croissants which were the smallest we had ever seen .would we stay again no.

Lovely quirky hotel

The owners daughter greeted us and checked us in.
Lovely room on the 2nd floor overlooking the the river with the mountains above - could not ask for a better view.
Okay the loo and shower are in the bedroom but for the price and location it is worth it. The room was clean and comfortable.
After a walk in the town it was time for a relaxing drink.
Recommended is the kir royal with cider, better known as cassis with cider - a nice start to the evening!
I followed with a small pitcher of cider and then we had a nice bottle of white. This was recommended by the daughter given that we were having gallettes and dessert - a good choice.
The gallettes were lovely as were the desserts - mine a crepe with caramel and salted butter!
We wanted a cheese plate of local cheeses, which not on the menu was provided!
Breakfast was a simple continental one, after which it was time to collect our ice blocks from their freezer and head for Italy via the Mont Cenis pass- a beautiful drive.
The cost of the one night stay including diner, drinks and breakfast was very reasonable.
