A peaceful oasis above the bustle of Vieux-Lyon

We stayed at this beautiful hotel, a converted monastery/convent, during the recent heatwave and what a blessing it was to have access to a pool and gardens after a morning of sightseeing in 30 degree heat! Service was friendly and efficient and the room comfortable and cool. We didn’t have breakfast, instead using the café a few minutes’ walk away at the Basilica or down in the old town. We had dinner in the restaurant Les Télephones on the Sunday when many other restaurants are closed, and the food was of good quality although the service just a little patchy but it was Mother’s Day in France so they were busy. The hotel seems a long way up above town but you can be in the heart of Vieux-Lyon in 3 minutes using the funicular just by the Basilica. A lovely escape from the bustle of the city.

Overall good place to stay for two nights visit to Lyon. On top of the city with easy access to the old town and nearby attractions. Very convenient two bedroom suite layout nicely furnished for the family of four. The shower is a bit awkward but that is just a comment. A/C was not working well enough so it was rather warm
At night and in tbd morning i figured it out as air filter was completely clogged. That is something hotel should pay attention to.
Good restaurant with professional and pleasant waiters.

Hen we were checking in we were said that breakfast is included but it came out later that it was not. Indeed it was not shown in the free perks of VIP access for expedia customers but it was strange to be said that it is free and then that it is not.
Pool, and spa area: We were with two kids and couples in the pool kind of shocked our kids from going into the pool as they were acting too expressively what is probably normal for French, I do not know but it made us very uncomfortable.

Stunning hotel in the heart of Lyon!
We stayed as a family of 3 for just one night and still managed to enjoy the beautiful hotel, the breakfast, and the pool in the morning. The pool is long and narrow but great for both kids and a quick swim.
The only downside was a late 10pm check-in. Our room wasn’t ready and the night receptionist struggled to offer us another room that fit 3 people. It took over an hour to resolve, which was tough with 2 tired kids.
My advice: contact the hotel before a late arrival to make sure everything is set. Aside from that, it’s a real gem and totally worth stopping by!

This is a magical place to stay! The staff were so helpful and attentive and insisted on helping us with our many pieces of luggage and bags. The building is amazing - totally majestic lobby. Sit in it and look at everything from the ceiling to the stained glass windows and the painted walls. You know you're in a special place. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable. Bed was great. Bathroom was clean and up to date with a good shower. No shampoo though so bring your own amenities other than body wash. Easy walk to the funicular down into Lyon as there is really nothing up on the hill. One night we dined at the hotel restaurant and it was outstanding. Very gourmet experience. Didn't have breakfast so I can't comment but the room overlooks the courtyard. Pool is above ground lap pool but weather was too cold to go in. Parking is in their large lot so very convenient. Just a beautiful hospitable experience and would definitely stay here again.

Place is nice, but staff not very friendly. Was told we could sign up for breakfast next day if we wanted, came to the reception next morning and got told it was full. Dinner was also full. Asked if we could stay half an hour after check out by the pool and was told a straight no. No smiles, nothing. Didn’t make us feel very welcome.
