great weekend with friends

Excellent hotel, the meal was quality, value for money, absolutely nothing to say, location ideally located on the magnificent Burgundy wine route.
The managers are particularly friendly and accommodating, we will definitely come back.

Worn-out and uncozy hotel with economical service

The room was quiet and not too small. The bikes we could park in the restaurant on the side. Breakfast was satisfying.
The whole decor of the hotel (and also the room) was old and worn out. At check-in time, I had to make a phone call to get the hotel unlocked. When we went to the restaurant for dinner after opening hours, the inside door was locked and we had to go through a side exit to the hotel where the young man who had unlocked us was sitting on the kitchen step. When I alerted him to the fact that we had reserved a table, he stood up without a word and unlocked the restaurant. At least we got drinks right away. After all the expected guests had arrived (4 couples and 1 child) the landlady came and presented us all with the choice to opt for 1 of 2 dishes, which were then gradually all served at the same time. Besides our bikes, I haven't experienced dinner yet.

While passing through the region I wanted to try a classic hotel restaurant located along the main road.

Home cooking, a little too generous with a lack of seasoning.
Classic setting resembling a regular relay.
It's summer, seasonal vegetables would have been welcome.

Highly acceptable, but basic, budget hotel

This hotel is on the "Route des Grands Crus" and is right next to the Aloxe-Corton. As such, it's great for local vineyard visits. It's a modern two-floor building on the edge of the sleepy little hamlet of Comblanchien. The restaurant is popular with the locals and they do a very good value, dinner, bed and breakfast package. They offer good-quality traditional Burgundian family cooking rather than haute cuisine and it's well worth getting there in time for dinner.
We stayed here with two medium/large dogs in one of the large family rooms. (There's no dog supplement so that's a bonus.) Good shower with reliable very hot water; the spotlessly clean toilet is across the corridor. Inexpensive breakfast (5€) with unlimited coffee/hot chocolate and extra bread.
Trivia: the owner is a keen hunter, and keeps his own gun dogs (Spaniels). Some of the stuff he shoots ends up on the menu (and very good it is too),

Très accueillant

Réservation à la dernière seconde au pied de la porte suite à une expérience catastrophique le week-end de Pâques dans un air bnb à Magny les Villers et le plaisir de tomber dans ce petit hôtel très agréable, tout simple, sans chichis, mais authentique
Restauration excellente (bourguignon de canard au top) et patron super sympa.
Encore merci.
