Wonderful hotel - my new home away from home

The perfect hotel - my new home away from home. Everything about the hotel was top tier. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of everything and a block away from Croisette Beach. The property is fantastic with a wonderful pool area with lots of seating. The room was large and very comfortable, including a small balcony. The wifi was so fast that Netflix never had to buffer. The AC worked well which was necessary given how hot it was. The breakfast buffet was an added bonus. But most of all, it was the service that really made the stay as good as it was. Absolutely top tier customer service from start to finish. Everyone was very helpful and there was never anything they wouldn’t do for you. The staff were very friendly, always saying hello with a smile on their face, and even left a personalized welcome note with a free drink at the downstairs bar. Overall this hotel was absolutely perfect. It was my first stay in the south of France but certainly not my last, and Hotel Le Canberra is my new home away from home. Highly recommend.

No plumbing or hospitality at this "4 star luxury" hotel

For $650/night, a working toilet & decent service are basic expectations. Upon arrival, our toilet would not flush. Staff confirmed the issue in our room but offered no maintenance until the following day & stated that we would not be able to move rooms, forcing us to to use a public restroom near the basement gym for our first day as well as the next morning. The plumbing failed again on our final day.
Service at checkout was shockingly rude. The general manager was hostile & defensive- insisting that a verbal apology & two drink vouchers were sufficient compensation for our inconveniences. Failing to provide basic, functional plumbing in a 4-star "luxury" hotel warrants a partial refund, not excuses. Save your money & stay elsewhere. Less expensive hotels offer far better hospitality & basic, working amenities.

First and foremost, please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you experienced on the evening of 4 August concerning the toilet facilities in your room.
As soon as our team was informed of the situation, a member of staff attended your room and confirmed that the flushing system was not operating correctly at that time. In order to minimise the inconvenience caused, we immediately offered complimentary drink vouchers as a gesture of goodwill and remained available throughout the evening should you require any further assistance.
The following morning, our maintenance team conducted a thorough inspection of the installation. No malfunction could be identified, as the flushing system was operating normally, and no repair work proved necessary. The facilities remained fully functional for the remainder of your stay.
We fully understand that this temporary inconvenience was frustrating, particularly during the early stages of your visit. However, given the short duration of the issue, the prompt assistance provided by our team, and the goodwill gestures already extended, including the complimentary cocktails and drink vouchers, we believe that the situation was managed appropriately.
As the issue could not be reproduced during the maintenance inspection and was resolved without any further intervention, we regret that we are unable to offer additional compensation or a partial refund.
Nevertheless, we truly value your loyalty and the trust you place in Hôtel Le Canberra. We sincerely hope that this isolated incident will not overshadow the many positive aspects of your stay and that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Cannes in the future.

We been regularly guests at this hotel over the last years and can say that our experience has been worse over time. This time we felt that the staff was not as friendly and helpful as in the past. Breakfast was not filled even if we came down 1 hour before it closed. We will not return

It is the ONE.

It is my first review before leaving the hotel. Wanted to make sure you plan your trip correctly.
Exceptional hotel in the center, on the main shopping street.
Staff are super nice and helpful especially Esmeralda who greets you with a smile.
We got one room and one suite: both very spacious with a nice view.
Breakfast is acceptable.
Pool area very charming with nice greenery.
Plenty of parking spaces around.

A superb experience in a top hotel

From the moment we arrived, the staff could not have been more helpful or courteous. The room was spacious, clean and as advertised. The pool was more than adequate for a hotel of this size and, regularly checked by staff, there were no issues with people using towels to reserve sun beds. Within a short distance of the beach, the hotel is in close proximity to all central restaurants and bars. A short stroll to the rail station makes travel from Nice airport so easy.
