Nothing less than fantastic

This is the second time we stay at Kerteminde hostel and not the last.
It's really a lovely place. It is located a little outside the city (walking distance) but in the middle of the forest with good bike and hiking routes around the forest. A short walk from the hostel, you land at the fjord. The place is cosy and you feel clearly welcome.
We had to call because the bridge over here was closed most of the day because of wind and we could see at the clock that we could not reach it until they closed. I got an email with a key box code and a map of where it was. Our key was there and we could quietly land at our own pace. Lovely.
Breakfast we had ordered from home and it was nothing less than a fantastic breakfast table. Nothing was missing and everything was super delicious. Breakfast can easily compare with the best hotels that is for sure.
Thank you for this time to akerteminde hostels. May our ways meet again.

Boring service

We had booked and paid for a single night from Tuesday to Wednesday at Kerteminde Hostel but was suddenly prevented. We will therefore contact Tuesday morning/afternoon to hear if we can cancel our booking. This cannot be done - which is also evident from their terms.
We ask if we can get a proof of goods instead, so that we could enjoy a stay another time - it could not be done.
We come a lot in that area and need accommodation but it will definitely not be where we put our money.
One thing is what you are entitled to but another thing is good service and customer care - we unfortunately did not experience it here.

Nice and clean - great breakfast

It is a simple place, nothing extra, but nice and clean. We had a family room and had a good nights sleep.
However, we could here conversations in the other rooms and the pipes were noisy when others tooks showers...
There was a very nice breakfast.

A hostel way beyond expectations

The Danish 'vandrerhjem' is often translated as 'hostel', but truth is that many of them are closer to hotels on a number of parameters (a bar in the evening and croissants/cafe au lait in the morning is the exception to this).
This particular Danhostel on the edge of pittoresque town Kerteminde (with adjoining fiord) must take the price, though: The food was excellent and so was the service, the friendliness of the staff and the surroundings.
Go there!
PS - visit the 'Fioard and Belt' marine life center which is within walking distance

Thanks for you lovely review on our hostel. We appreciate it very much, we take a pride in cooking homemade food and giving good service, therefore we are pleased when people take to trouble of telling us.

Great place for 1 night or more

Myself and partner stayed here while visiting relatives. The staff welcome you from the minute you book in until its time to leave. Breakfast is fresh buffet style with all tastes catered for. Set in a lovely wooded area that's quite and peacefully. Your a 5 minute walk from the beach but very close by is a child's park and even a patang pitch. Rooms are clean with a walk in shower, tv & wi-fi if you need it. We stayed 6 days and that was the 2nd visit, definately stay again. I would advise get the international pass as well for other hostels.
