Lovely beach hotel
Even more beautiful than in the pictures.
Lovely beach atmosphere. Great good breakfast, very extensive and freshly replenished including beautiful sea views.
Good staff.
Free parking, 2 chargers.
Nice suite, but soft pillow.
Nearby by ferry to beautiful island Fanø.

Sadly, the Hjerting Badehotel I Loved Is Gone
I truly miss the old Hjerting Badehotel
I had genuinely been looking forward to returning to Hjerting Badehotel, but unfortunately I have to say that much of what I used to love about this place seems to have disappeared.
I especially miss the old “shop-in” concept and the warm, cosy and slightly exclusive seaside-hotel atmosphere. Today, this has been replaced by a small bakery-style shop serving coffee and bread. There is nothing wrong with that concept in itself, but for me, much of the charm and character that once made Hjerting Badehotel feel special has gone.
The same applies to the restaurant. One of the things I was really looking forward to was the classic fresh plaice fillet, pan-fried and served with fresh potatoes – simple, traditional Danish food done properly. Sadly, this has disappeared from the menu.
Instead, the restaurant now offers a selection that, in my opinion, feels more like a fairly average provincial restaurant menu, while the prices remain very much at the higher end.
I fully understand that hotels need to develop and change their concepts, and perhaps this new direction makes good business sense in terms of occupancy and profitability. However, somewhere along the way, I feel that Hjerting Badehotel has lost much of the identity, atmosphere and soul that made it worth travelling for.
So, despite many good memories and having genuinely looked forward to returning, my conclusion is unfortunately: thank you for the experiences in the past, but no thank you to future stays or restaurant visits.
I simply miss the Hjerting Badehotel I used to know.

A nice stay
Although everything seemed to be busy in the time we wanted, we managed to get a 3 day stay with room with sea view and half board.
The weather was with us and the very stay was close to perfect. The food was both varied and ok, but the special was the waiter staff. They were busy, but were all the way through helpful and very attentive. The wine card must also be praised for having a good and varied content.
We have had 3 nice days and will be happy to return

Buy only stay with breakfast the rest fails
The finer bath hotels often change the menu it allows the kitchen to make better food - but only 2 main dishes hmmmm it is not serious.
I am well aware that it is not a nicer bath hotel, but 5 to 6 classic main dishes are a sign of a serious kitchen.
We had to give in & go - we have been there for 40 years - we went to Stryhns ice cream bar and got a delicious food pancakes & snapped into the sandwich bar across the hotel and got delicious ice cream with coffee for .......
So my advice is go at Stryhns & Sandwich Bar instead .......... These are nearest neighbors.
I have heard on the water pipes that soon there will be new bowl on the soup the hotel has a new owner now - who would like to see their money benefit - otherwise it can all be unimportant ☺️

Tak fordi du tog dig tid til at dele dine tanker. Vi er naturligvis kede af, at jeres restaurantbesøg ikke levede op til dine forventninger, og at I valgte at spise et andet sted. Heldigvis er vi beriget med gode spisesteder rundt omkring os.
Du har helt ret i, at vores menukort er anderledes, end det har været tidligere. Det er et meget bevidst valg. Vi arbejder med et mindre udvalg af retter, som skifter i takt med sæsonen, fordi vi ønsker at tage udgangspunkt i de råvarer, der er allerbedst netop nu. For os handler et mindre menukort om at kunne give hver enkelt ret den opmærksomhed og kvalitet, den fortjener, ikke om at gå på kompromis med ambitionerne i køkkenet. Vi ved samtidig godt, at denne tilgang ikke passer til alles forventninger. Nogle foretrækker et større udvalg af klassiske retter, og det har vi fuld forståelse for.
Vi sætter pris på, at du har besøgt os gennem mange år. Derfor er det naturligvis ekstra ærgerligt, at du ikke kunne genkende den oplevelse, du havde håbet på.
Selvom meget har udviklet sig gennem årene, er vores ambition den samme: at skabe gode oplevelser med nærværende service, velsmagende mad og råvarer af høj kvalitet.

Good kitchen, catastrophic service - we took 2.5 hours to order the appetizer and main course.
Good kitchen - unfortunately overwhelmed and sometimes rude service - customers are made to wait - when being seated, when ordering, and when paying. 2.5 hours for an appetizer and a main course…
