Located in the Southern Jutland Region, this countryside hotel is 14 km from the Rømø Island. It offers free WiFi and a free private parking space for each guest. The rooms of Hotel Ballumhus include a TV, a private entrance and a small patio facing the quiet inner courtyard. Ballumhus Hotel’s restaurant specialises in traditional Danish cuisine. A variety of drinks as well as chilled Danish beers are served in the bar. The small towns of Skærbæk and Bredebro are both 15 minutes’ drive from Ballumshus. Really bad experience
On the website, they advertise with newly renovated rooms, but we did not see anything for them. On the way to the rooms, it was full of excrement from swallows, so you had to watch where you went. Outside two of the rooms stood a bench that was headed by swallows…
The first room we got was not cleaned at all. There were used paper napkins on the floor, and there were empty soda bottles in both the room and the bathroom.
After contacting the reception, we were allocated another room. It looked a little better, but the chairs were so worn that the covers were in laser!
We decided we wanted a cup of coffee. We went to the restaurant and ordered 4 cups of coffee. 2 of the cups were not clean. They were filled with coffee or tea rander. We then drew attention to that and got some clean cups.
When we got to dinner, the waiter said that it wasn't sure they had all the wines that were on the wine list, because they were about to close!! However, we found some wine that suited the food. The food tasted fine, but it was half cold.
The next evening it happened again, but again we found a wine that suited the half-cold food.
The only uplifting thing about the stay was the breakfast, but we didn't see anything to it either. We would like to praise the very nice waiter who served at dinner.
We don't feel we got value for money and we will definitely never come back. Not even with a possible new host on site.

Theft in broad daylight!
Then Corona stuck and everything closed down. I called the hotel, and was told that the hotel was flexible and that the stay could be used even if we passed the date of expiration.
When everything opened again (April 2021) I called to book, but was now told that the date June the first was the last day we could come.
I tried to refer to the previous information that I recieved, but to no avail. THIS IS THEFT! nothing more nothing less!
I am so disappointed, and I recommnend you all to find a different location - there are many who know the value of satisfied customers.

Average for the price
This hotel does not cater to wheelchair disabled but you can manage if you are able to walk
We had no hot water in the shower but found out later there was a trick to this and they had it turned down so best you check at reception before jumping in
The breakfast was very good

mediocre
then a 4 course meal, large portions, but nothing to remember. More like everyday meals.
finally coffee with sweet (small chocolate bars) and avec (liqour, no brandy)
All in all a basic experience.
