Amazing location, able to walk throughout the city, very convenient valet parking, dinner at Restaurant was delicious. Large comfortable hotel room

There's parts of the hotel that are very tired and in need of updating. In our room, the fridge didn't work, all the baseboards around the shower had severe water damage at one point that they never repaired, parts of the curtains were broken so light came through in the morning, one of the lamps and outlets were broken. Not anything that made the stay bad, but just not great either - especially with the cost.
The food wasn't great at all. We had dinner there the first night and the chicken was awful. It tasted charred even though it wasn't - like, something had caught on fire next to it and the smell seeped into the chicken. We had breakfast the last morning and the eggs smelled so awful that I didn't dare touch it. Muffins were stale and potatoes were soft and over seasoned. $25pp for breakfast was a complete rip off. I've had better continental free breakfasts than that with more options and better tasting.
The walls are also paper thin. Our room was right next to the elevator and you can hear the elevator go up and down all hours, doors slide open, and the ding of the elevator. During the day we could hear the housekeepers yelling to one another.
Definitely don't recommend staying here as it's not cheap but feels it.

The only downside was that they only served a breakfast buffet until 10:30am. You had to leave the hotel for lunch, or to have a drink. Dinner service at the restaurant and bar was only open from 5pm to 9pm.
Everyone was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is in a great location not for from McGill and Mont Royal park.
However, we had a host of issues. We reserved a room for three and when we checked in we got a room with a king bed and no pull out couch or other bed. Having books dozens of rooms over the years all over Canada and the U.S. I have never been given such a room. We were then told that the hotel was all booked and no apology or explanation. To make matters worse, the service was poor. We never received a third towel set even after several requests. We requested just a single spoon, but received it twelve hours later. The staff was friendly, but poorly trained. Basic questions about the neighborhood (restaurants, walks) were met with staff Googling for answers. I wrote directly to the hotel regarding the room, but never heard back. Needless to say, we were extremely frustrated and disappointed and deserved better.

Enjoyable stay at Sens Hotel

I have stayed at the Sens hotel on and off since moving from Montrral 30 years ago. We just spent 5 days there and the hotel has never been better. All the hotel staff - reception, concierge, bell, maid - were welcoming, helpful, polite. The room was spacious and immaculate with lots of room for luggage and computers, endless plugs, and there was also a microwave. It is centrally located. We felt it was great value.
