Could be better

This was a very nice boutique hotel in a stunning location. We had a very well appointed and comfortable room with a great view of Mt Sturgeon. The restaurant we booked for the first night was very good both regarding food and service. The only thing to consider is the value for money.
Most of the rooms are either $400 or $500 a night. There is a smaller room but given we had the $400 room I wouldn't want to go any smaller. Then you have to eat at either their very expensive restaurant or their just expensive restaurant because there is no other option in town. This means that now you are going to spend a minimum of $200 a night on food. (There is another option that is very hard to find online and was not mentioned at check-in when we asked about eating options and that is the bar menu but we didn't realise this until too late). For this amount of money, there is no breakfast provision. You are encouraged to support the coffee shop or the bakery in the town. At your expense, of course and then there is no daily service of your room. Not even the option of dry towels and nothing to inform you of this either at check-in or in the room.
So, does it represent good value for money? Probably not.

Gorgeous Food with Outstanding and Personable Service.

Absolutely stunning in every way. My
Mother and I had a most delightful meal. With lovely personable service. My dear mother was raised here in Dunkeld. Her Father owning and running the local bakery. Such memories ~ thank you !

Special visit

My 90 year old Mum and I enjoyed such a fabulous stay here. We arrived early during the January heatwave and Terri at reception, kindly allowed us to checkin early. The room was elegant & well designed, great views over the Grampians & the following morning wallaby’s hopping past our balcony. I enjoyed a relax by the pool, the wine tour is a must visit & the garden tour was incredible. We also had friends join us at the Parker St project for dinner, every course was delicious. Absolutely recommend this experience, wish we stayed a week. Thankyou for the birthday card and chocolates for my Mother, she loved them

staff are very efficient and friendly to compliment an excellent hospitality establishment caters for visitors and locals by offering different catering options

Beautiful stay at a superb property

The Royal Mail Hotel is a fantastic place to stay. It has the most comfortable beds. We had a visitor to our garden three days in a row:a wallaby, gorgeous. Round out a perfect stay with at least one meal here. We dined at Parker Street Project and really enjoyed some very special dishes. What stood out for us was the magnificent staff ai the restaurant. Superb.
Also, wish I had that underfloor heating in my bathroom at home.
