Great little hotel in the centre of the old town.

Booked this hotel as we wanted to stay an extra night in Tarragona. We found good service and a nice clean room, good value really considering the location.

Perfect location; fine experience during our repeat visit except for the AC

This hotel is located at the Plaza de la Font Square in the old city. The ruins of the Roman Amphitheatre, the Cathedral and the promenade near the sea are just a few hundred metres away. There are almost literally innumerable restaurants and bars around. The location is perfect.
We stayed at this hotel after a gap of almost a decade. We were delighted to find that the room quality remains exactly the same. The rooms are on the smaller side, yet our room had a tiny balcony overlooking the square, three very comfortable chairs, enough storage space, good lighting and lots of natural light streaming into the room and bath during the day.
The only negative was that the AC would get auto cut off at very frequent intervals and we would wake up in our sleep. The hotel management has to re calibrate the Air conditioner, else customers will find the summer months difficult to endure.
Paola and Chus provided us great hospitality at the restaurant. A fine experience overall, except for the AC.

Basic hotel

The hotel location is excellent, surrounded by lots of restaurants in a beautiful square. The hotel is very clean as are the rooms. Food is reasonably priced, 3 toasted sandwiches/fries/bottle wine/coke...all for €26 approx
The negatives are as follows: staff , while not rude, are not overly friendly either. The air-conditioning in the room didn't work and staff just shrugged it off. Thankfully we were able to open a window and noise wasn't too bad. The triple room was very small but we got over that. Tea/coffee making facilities would have been nice.
We assumed breakfast would be buffet style but wasn't, you just went into their cafe and the choice was poor, coffee with a pastry/sandwich/roll. We paid about €10/€12 for 3 of us. If you are Irish, I suggest bringing your own tea bags and just ask for hot water. Their tea is earl grey and brutal. There is no rush in the staff so don't expect fast service. When checking out, we weren't even asked if we enjoyed our stay.

Paper thin walls

A small, three star hotel on a busy square which has lots of bar terraces. We had a room at the back, so no noise from the square. However, the walls are paper thin. As we discovered when our neighbours returned at around 23:30. It was as if they were in the room with us!
Rooms are small, but everywhere was spotlessly clean.
The WiFi was really fast. In stark contrast to the 4-star we had just come from in Barcelona.
Restaurant Quattros, a few doors away on the square, had an excellent Menu del Dia. We ate there both days we were in Tarragona.

Fabulous

A lovely hotel in a fabulous location, very friendly and helpful staff , it's almost like a family run hotel , I would like to mention their names but I forgot to ask, but the young man on reception and the ladies at the bar/cafe were a delight .
A treat to have a room with a bath , all in all a great place.
