They canceled our reservation when we were already on our way.

Our experience was very disappointing.
We had booked this hostel for two nights and the reservation was fully paid from the moment we made it. However, on the same day of arrival, when we were already on our way, we received a message indicating that, supposedly, the payment had not been made and that if we did not pay again within five hours, they would cancel the reservation.
We tried to contact the accommodation by all possible means: by phone, by WhatsApp, and even through the messaging service of Booking. It was impossible to speak with anyone. We did not receive any response or explanation.
Finally, they canceled our reservation without prior notice and without giving us the opportunity to clarify what was happening. They literally left us without accommodation on the same day of our arrival, with all the disruption that this caused.
We understand that errors can occur, but what really upset us was the complete lack of communication and customer service. A situation like this could have been easily resolved if someone had responded or had given us an explanation.
Unfortunately, our experience was very negative and we would not recommend this accommodation due to the way they handled the problem.

Authentic financial ordeal

Be very careful if you book here. My experience has been an authentic financial ordeal. The Ganbara Hostel charged me the full amount of the reservation four months in advance, even though the reservation was without prepayment. Once made, there is a section where they say they can charge whenever they wish. I canceled my reservation on April 13 (within the legal timeframe) and it has taken almost two months to refund my money. During this time, the hostel and Booking have been constantly 'passing the ball': the hostel said it was the platform's issue and Booking said the money was with the accommodation. In the end, no one took responsibility while my money remained withheld. Only after immense pressure, weeks of claims, and the help of OMIC, has the Ganbara Hostel refunded me the amount, and not even the exact amount (a few cents are missing). If you want to avoid the stress of having to chase your own money and face nonexistent customer service that solves nothing, do not book here. There are many options in Bilbao with much more professional and ethical management.

They do not offer a deal in Basque; moreover, they are Basque.

Ez dute euskaraz egiten. Eta idatziz euskaraz erreserba egiten saiatuz gero, ez dizute erreserbarik egiten. Euskaraphobia kasu argia.
They don't speak Basque. And if you try to make a written reservation in Basque, they do not make any reservation. Clear case of euskaraphobia.

They deny reservations simply because they are made in Basque. If people in Bilbao don't want to hear Basque, they can just close down and go somewhere else in the world with their fascism.

Terrible service. Closed toilets, sad breakfast, all industrial. And fascists with a bracelet on their wrist and an Israeli flag in the hall
