Our ferry was super late and it was the last one of the night. We were not sure what to expect when we arrived, since there is no front desk and check in was supposed to end at 11 p.m. and it was way past that time. And it was very dark. Unfortunately, we probably made way more noise than we should have because it’s gravel everywhere and we did a loop around all the cute cottages before we realized we were in the main house where we first turned in.
The room was charming and the beds were comfortable. We had our coffees in the morning, checked our phones, and then it was time to leave because checkout time was at 10 a.m.
Another guest told us we had missed good music at the restaurant on property, called Matthew’s Smokehouse.
We’ll have to go back, especially now that we know what to expect.

Wonderful stay!

Deer Harbor Inn (and cabins) is a quiet and darling resort on the west side of Orcas Island. The rooms and cabins are clean with very comfortable beds. The complex has a restaurant and an open area with picnic tables, games and deer! We loved it! It reminded us of a simpler time, with good old fashioned fun! We hope to stay again someday!

I cannot recommend this hotel. It feels quite empty, no host, no place to eat breakfast nearby no advice to get to a place to eat. We had trouble using the code to get in our room. Phones do not work there unless you are on their wifi. Wifi isn't available unless you are in the room to find the wifi information. We had to find another guest who gave us the information on how to contact the innkeeper. Really disappointing. We thought we would be sleeping in the car since no help was coming. We did get in thanks to the other guest. The curtain rod kept falling down when opening/ closing curtains.

Loved this little gem in Deer Harbor

This property is a little gem! Quiet and very clean. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Great value and walking distance to the Deer Harbor Marina where our kids were moored for the week. We will definitely be back again!

Very cute, clean, and pleasant place to stay. Although there was no on-site check-in desk, when we called the innkeeper he was very helpful.
