a dream...

it is not a hostel, but a historic house; you enter and it feels like entering a friend's home, a nice living room with an open kitchen (usable). There is a fridge, where you find wine, drinks, and water at a reasonable price; you can help yourself whenever you want and leave the money in a little box... I was in a dormitory for 10, but it is a nice room divided into 2 areas, very comfortable beds, outlets, a light, and some curtains for more privacy, a simple but excellent breakfast; what can I say, a beautiful experience, made even more beautiful by Valenca, a true gem nestled within the walls of a fortress...

A real pilgrim's hostel

In the heart of Valenca do minho, hides this beautiful hostel, equipped with all comforts, excellent cleanliness, excellent bathroom. Very good breakfast. All excellent

Bad service

Noise stairs
Cages away from bed and downstairs
Impossibility to carry backpack near the bed
Several lack of respect and consideration on the part of employees, in particular:
- Alarm ringed several times during the dawn, was contacted the emergency phone and the same was at the reception, without any employees to solve the situation
- Cleaning of the beds and WC at the guests' rest time and before the check-out time, more precisely at 9h50, with sheets replaced by the staff when the host was in the wc. When called the attention of the employee, she claimed that it was already time to wake up because the check-out time would be 10:30.
- Discussions between receptionist and staff at guest rest time and in the rooms
- Noise of employees during rest hour
- Employee referring to my person, like
"this" and shut the box door to see the number, when I was using it, to know which Reservation I belonged to
- Worker proceeded to change sheets on the host's bed with dirty socks

Beautiful hostel on the Portuguese road

Beautiful HOSTEL, with all the details to start the Portuguese road from the fortress and the international bridge. Hernan kept an eye on us throughout. At the HOSTEL we were able to sleep with privacy thanks to the curtains, the bathrooms very clean, had complimentary details, for dinner and breakfast, a great fruit bowl to start the road with the batteries charged. Fully recommended.

Wonderful little gem on the Caminho

Fantastic location. Great communal space. The bed was really comfortable, with a privacy curtain, a light and a charging point. The showers and toilets were very clean and there were enough facilities for all guests. Warm welcome from Barbara. A highlight of the Camino.
