Hotel from Hell !
So foolishly I assumed the proximity of the hotel to downtown Amman should have been the big sell of this wreck. I arrived almost round midnight to learn that there are 2 ( not one) night clubs in the facility one in the roof and one in first floor. Noisy with tasteless music! And half drunken teenagers. Oh also, the hotel is immersed in strong Tobacco smell all over the place, although the rooms supposedly smoke-free!
The horror room comprised 2 twin beds. Each after removing the top sheet revealed long hair, moth and dead insects with terrible smell. Walls show visible rot and humidity. Floor seems never been cleaned for a month or so. They have literally broken windows patched with electric tape! The coffee table had a leather top that turned greenish fungus out of lack of cleaning. The bath room has a mirror that literally painted to cover chipped glass (I thought it was art !!) The toilette seat is leaking and the flush tank dripping all night long- fitting of the horror movie this dumpster resembles- ! I could not stay the night so I called Orbitz cancelled my reservation and called an Uber to move to a cleaner hotel.
The owner of this hotel should be jailed for scamming customers and the hotel should be shut down for health risks among other reasons.

Nightclub central with no sleep and a lot of broken appliances...
There were many problems worth mentioning but the worst by far was the extremely loud nightclub in the building with music blasting till 2.30am even on a Monday night! It was unbearable and when you call to complain they don’t care! It did strike me as weird that there was a metal detector as you enter the building but I didn’t realize it was a nightclub.
They asked if we wanted a TV in our room to which we replied yes, however in the 2 rooms we had the TVs were broken and they said they couldn’t fix them. In one of the rooms the air conditioner was broken so it was on freezing cold all night and couldn’t be switched off. We called reception a number of times but there never seemed to be anyone at the desk to answer.
We had asked for 2 days for a kettle for the room to which they continuously promised us they would bring but only brought it on the day we were leaving.
There was one lady at breakfast who was kind and helpful (and is one of the only good things about the hotel) but the rest of the staff were rude and unhelpful. It was surprising the attitude of most of the staff when everywhere else in jordan, the people were so welcoming, helpful and kind! We were really amazed as even randoms on the street were so polite, so you would expect hospitality staff to be hospitable.
The location was good as was the price, so I guess that’s what you are paying for. But overall I wouldn’t recommend unless you are able to sleep through booming music all night.

Be careful..you get what you pay for
After too many hours of traveling - I went to check into my room at this hotel. During check in the hotel clerk charged my card for the entire stay up front instead of placing the normal hold that most hotels do. I received my room key and made my way up to the room.
The room left something to be desired....
• The only way to lock the door when inside the room was to use a key, that was hard to turn in the lock, so safety was definitely an issue if you ever needed to get out of the room quickly.
• The heater only worked when a key card was in the slot on the wall - so it was freezing when we arrived (and would be each time we came back to the room)
• The bathroom had bulk shampoo/conditioner available (so who knows what was in those containers)
• One window was broken so you could hear everything that occurred on the street
After about 5 minutes in the room, I made the decision to check out and change to a 5 star hotel. I proceeded back to the lobby and advised the staff that I was not happy and wanted to cancel my reservation. The manager advised that he could not do a refund or void my credit card transaction and that he had to wait 2 business days for the funds to clear his bank then he would bring me my cash at my new hotel.
Well as you can guess – I never saw him again or my cash.
Thankfully my credit card company is great and they were able to credit my account the JD 200 from this hotel.

Shepherd hotel
The hotel is in an excellent location and close to restaurants, shops and the hotel has a nightclub and an Italian restaurant. The hotel staff is very helpful but there are little repairs in the hotel's bathrooms and some furniture change.

Could be better.
Had booked 4 nights in this hotel.
The lighting in the room could be better.
Lamp flickers and the room is a little old and dingy. Would be good if the hotel does a revamp & improve on the overall hotel experience.
