Unwelcoming - but nice location

Unusual place. Lovely setting amongst the vineyards.
You arrive and go to the vineyard offices to check in (no signs) and are then shown to your room. Everything else you have to work out as you are not shown around and there is no guidebook or welcome letter in the room. Nice touch would have been a half bottle of estate wine as a welcome.
We had to ask about the vineyard tour and ended up having to share the tour with another couple who were not residents.
On investigating, we find a pool and a communal breakfast/games room. But all is strangely quiet. No warm feeling about the place. No welcoming feel. Shame at 250 euros a night.
The room itself is OK with good quality fitments but the bathroom is a strange rounded pod which makes no sense and there are no bath robes which you would expect in such a place.
Feels like someone has had a great idea to have rooms and has spent a lot of money but a little bit of style over substance. With a large function room, you feel it is more suited as a wedding venue with rooms for bridal couple and honoured guests rather than somewhere that works for a holiday stay.
Consequently, difficult to rate? Definitely not 5* but should it be 3* or 4*. I am probably being generous by giving 4...

Beautiful château and great service. However, Google maps and Apple Maps are not really aware of the best route to get there. So good luck on that.

Discreet and sublime: a gem

A spacious and sumptuous suite (special mention to the bath/shower area and its iridescent glass paste fairy mosaic), a games room and / or breakfasts where it is good to stroll sooner or later, and enjoy: French billiards, checkers play, chessboard, furniture and high standing service.
A charming and classy environment, perfectly renovated.
A discreet, professional and attentive team.
Good culinary addresses around.
A whole that we were able to enjoy exclusively.
Now there remains the impatience to start again...
Thank you for this experience. We travel a lot and are delighted to discover the best of what we love so close to our stronghold.

Perfect winery estate with beautiful rooms and staff that made us feel like royalty!

WOW! This place is fantastic! The room is absolutely stunning and this winery castle estate is picture perfect at every turn. Their wine is excellent and the tour of the winery was fascinating. We also greatly enjoyed relaxing by the pool and sipping their best wines in the grand salon at the end of a long day exploring this beautiful region. I have travelled extensively around the world and I must admit that their VIP Concierge approach to customer service is perhaps the best I have seen in all my travels. Lucie is absolutely amazing! We stayed for 4 days/3 nights (during a statutory holiday in France) and Lucie was there to greet us with a big smile despite our later than expected arrival, to serve us a lovely breakfast every day, to help us with last minute reservations for dinner at nearby restaurants, to find that special bottle of wine we'd been looking for, to give us a highly informative tour of their beautiful winery and to make us feel like we were special guests of the chateau! We are very impressed with her resourcefulness, her great energy and lovely personality. We will absolutely plan to stay there again someday! I highly recommend this magical place!
