TO AVOID

While the exterior sign still displays 3 stars, this establishment, now a guesthouse, should be avoided: everything is going downhill: sewage drainage issues, electrical standards to be reviewed, musty odors... EXORBITANT PRICE for NON-EXISTENT service. Has aged very poorly.

Sleep in your car instead

Dirty (see attached photos), smelling the withdrawn, in its juice of the 40s, dark, infamous, dubious and out-of-age bath towels, a vile breakfast (stale bread, rancid butter, loose cereals, dried and shortened Paris ham on the edges, a single jam: bitter orange with DLUs outdated 2 years ago...) infinitely too expensive for what it is. No hot water in the shower, terrible toilets. No Welcoming at 10:30 p.m., hotel fully switched off (manage to find your way to your rooms!) An unworthy decoration, even in 1940 it must have already been outdated. When I read the dithyrambic reviews of some Internet users , I think that they are necessarily wrong or that they have the wrong hotel. My experience fits rather with the worst reviews you can find about this hotel on Google or Tripadvisor. See my pictures, they are taken in August 2025. Disappointing to flee

Horrible I don't understand the star givers,,,3 stars for this hotel a disaster for the evening of January 1, 2026 we book by phone the manager available us ,,, when we arrived the hotel very cold the stairs impossible to climb with a suitcase the stairs too narrow the room unhealthy radiator thoroughly it was barely 15 the windows no double glazing the air passes under not isolated,,,, very bad bedding of the 30s ,,,, at midnight more heating and light I got up nobody in the hotel at 8 am we go down for breakfast (no one) while the day before told him that we leave for 9 am impossible to leave the front door locked,, we called him he arrived at 9:15 quiet not at all worried about in light we didn't breakfast seen the atmosphere he still asked to settle it not even a discount my wife asked him that it was impossible to sleep with the cold in the room he still made a gesture of 20 euros on an amount at 129 euros desolate to still find at that time dishonest people to be able to return money I hope other guests will look at the reviews before booking

The room but without breakfast!

The rooms at €129 are full of charm with pretty exposed beams, crisp white sheets and a bathroom with a good flow of hot water. The setting is romantic.
Big downside on breakfast. The cereals were stale, the bread not fresh, the supermarket croissant reheated, the coffee lukewarm and the butter expired a month ago. Too bad for 14€

This is the Bates Motel rebranded.

This dilapidated 17th Century hotel was a tourist trap…It was perhaps the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The stairs to the room were so steep we could barely get our luggage to the room. I felt the stairs were going to collapse under my feet. It was dark, dank, and to be honest a scary place to stay.
We were met by the hotel manager who was pleasant enough, but we had to call him to open up the hotel so we could check in. Similarly the next morning when we tried to check out, he was no where to be found. We had to call the phone half a dozen times for him to pick up to get him to the desk.
Quite frankly it felt like Hotel California - where you can check in but never leave…perhaps we were just one of the lucky ones and the devil said our souls weren’t pure enough to keep.
Another comparison perhaps is the Batemans Hotel in Psycho
