Christian and Katherine are fantastic hosts and took exceptional care of us. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well looked after. The food and wine were exquisite with stunning views over the river. Really special place. Thank you!

Very nice stay

7 km from Brantome this small village gains to be known.
Medieval castle , river Dronne , our stay (3 nights ) straddling August and September was very pleasant! Housed in an annex , old mill , freshly renovated . Spacious room , large bathroom , parking adjacent to an alley of the hotel restaurant . Friendly and open Welcoming ( some small bedroom finishes to be expected ). The restaurant a little expensive to take the 2 daily meals BUT home cooking , fresh products and attentive Service from Michel .
Full breakfast sweet , savory at normal price . Note for small finishes made or to come commercial gesture: gift of the last 2 breakfasts. Appreciable and appreciated thank you Jacques!
We will return without hesitation.

Excellent stay

My wife and I spent 5 days half-board in this charming hotel which is a very pleasantly restored old building. We benefited from a pleasant welcome and attentive care from very competent staff: in the kitchen the chef was inventive, just like in the dining room. The place is picturesque and the region offers multiple possibilities for visits. Congratulations to the owners and their brilliant team!

Beautiful view over the river

In September 2022 we stayed for 2 nights at the Hotel Les Griffons in the beautiful French town of Bourdeilles in the gorgeous Dordogne region of France. The hotel is very centrally located in the town. On the night we arrived they where not serving food in the restaurant so we were directed to the Nomad restaurant. Please see my other review. The manger was very helpful in getting us a booking, even though the restaurant were not taking bookings from the general public. The rooms at the Les Griffons were very comfortable and we had a window which looked out over the river, it was a beautiful view. The breakfasts were gorgeous with fruit, meats cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice as well as other juices. Fresh French bread which I love and home made jams. There is a small swimming pool and a hot tub which you need to book if you want to use. Staff very friendly and helpful at all times. Parking nearby.

We loved this hotel. Amazing setting on the river with picturesque views in two directions from our corner room. Utterly charming in every way. The self serve Italian coffee machine in the salon is fantastic. Walk to everything in the delightful village with many riverside park areas. We took short drive to Brantome for an excellent dinner. Can’t edit to go back!
