Pretty good stay for young family
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would return depending on market prices in the area.
The biggest highlight is the location. It’s right on the Esplanade, next to the fantastic playground, with plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops just outside the door. Mooloolaba Beach is only a short walk away, although the section directly opposite the hotel was quite rocky during our stay.
The pool facilities were excellent, especially for winter. There is a warm outdoor spa heated to around 35°C, a smaller spa and outdoor pool heated to approximately 28°C, and a heated indoor pool (which we didn’t get a chance to use).
The staff were friendly and accommodating. They provided complimentary parking passes so we could leave our car before check-in and after check-out, and we were also welcome to continue using the pool facilities on those days.
There are plenty of great dining options within walking distance. We particularly enjoyed Bella Venezia and Fish House Steak & Grill. Both served excellent food, although they are on the expensive side.
The hotel also makes a great base for exploring the Sunshine Coast. We used it for a day trip to Australia Zoo (about a 30-minute drive) and walked to SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium.
Our apartment was spacious and well equipped, with a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. The large spa bath was a real bonus and was great for young children.
Complimentary wifi worked fine.
There were a few minor downsides. Casting from our phones to the TV was unreliable, working only intermittently. The toilet cistern refilled very slowly after a second flush, sometimes taking up to five minutes. The pillows weren’t particularly comfortable, and while the pull-out sofa bed was adequate, it wasn’t especially comfortable either.
The games room was a little disappointing, with limited activities available and the main table game out of order during our stay.
Parking was complimentary in the secure undercover car park (2.1 m height clearance), and we were able to park two vehicles during our stay, which was a bonus.
Overall, Mantra Mooloolaba Beach offers a fantastic location, friendly service, good facilities and comfortable, well-equipped accommodation. Despite a few minor maintenance and comfort issues, we had a great stay and would definitely consider staying here again.

Great customer service but extremely outdated
Really good customer service upon arrival/departure. Very friendly, smiley and helpful. However, the room itself was extremely average and outdated. One of the wooden shutter blinds was broken and one of the blinds in the main living area didn’t come down fully. The bedroom could hardly fit my baby’s porta-cot. It was a queen sized bed, not a king bed as stated on the hotel’s website. All of the kitchen cupboards were locked too so we couldn’t open them. I paid an extremely high amount for what this room actually was (because it was school holidays and late-ish notice). Unfortunately we won’t be staying here again.

The Best Time
We had the best time with some lovely weather. The view out of the double doors, from the balcony in our "Superior Room" was truly superior! No whales yet, but plenty to see through the binoculars. We stayed 6 nights and could have stayed longer. Trudy, working the seventh floor, was magnificent and added to our experience by making sure we never ran out of the essentials including coffee. We’ll go again.

Great location and great room. Roomy enough in the 1 bedroom apartment. Bed was comfy. Good views and easy to walk for meals.

The Mantra is accessible rooms are quite nice and it’s a bonus to have parking and fabulous access to all that Mooloolaba offers on your doorstep
