Bicycle rental and Wi-Fi are offered at this hostel in the centre of Flensburg, a 20-minute walk from Flensburg Train Station. Hostel Flensburg has a garden and outdoor terrace. The bright rooms at Hostel Flensburg are simply furnished and feature colourful wall designs. A flat-screen TV and underfloor heating are offered in every room, and shared toilets and showers are situated between the rooms. A buffet breakfast is served in the dining room every morning, and drinks and snacks are available at the vending machines. A fully equipped kitchen with kitchenware can also be used for free. Guests are welcome to relax in the several indoor lounges. There is also an outdoor playground and barbecue facilities are available. There is private on-site parking for a fee Hostel Flensburg, and free public parking directly opposite. The Flensburg Fjord is just 2 km away. dirty, overpriced
the kitchen was disgusting - unclean and unhygienic
the bathroom is shared between two rooms and we were unable to access the shared bathroom as the other room had locked the door from their side.
on the day i arrived, they were booking single people into 4 person rooms and charging full price for the room. therefore they were " full" but had beds free.

Terrible hostel, dirty facilities & rude / unfriendly management!
I tried to speak with the staff at the hostel and was offered another family room with TV, however it only slept 3.... we were 4, so that wasn't a realistic solution!
I raised the issues with the owner and was basically told I'd got what I paid for and to shut up!!! I wasn't looking for a refund or to be compensated in any way, but feedback regarding facilities not being hygienic, services paid for not being provided and customer service would have been and happily is provided in other hostels in Flensberg. Stay away from this one. There are others better located, cheap and with facilities that match the description advertised.

Run-down place with room for improvements
We arrived 1430, only to meet a closed door "no entry until 16:00". Only entrance via a code. Receptionist had to be called via a button.
Reception friendly, no problem booking and getting our linen etc. WiFi codes given out complimentary, through Lan-1.
We were greatly disappointed by our room though: booked a 4-person room, and came to a large 8-person room, with 4 IKEA bunk beds. Practically no space on floor, and beds were like hammocks because people had been standing in them. (bad quality). ONE light bulb for entire room, hanging from cieling. The terrace door could not open, even though it was listed as escape route. Pillows and sheets synthetic and heavy. Doors equipped with dampers that would shut them hard every time.
Lots of dust and dirt on the floor, obviously not cleaned. Like a soldier outpost.
Shared bath room with next door room very large, with no shower curtain. Shelf toilet, so really disgusting smell. No paper towel dispensers, the paper rolls just lying around, smashed and wet. During our stay for 2 days, bathroom not cleaned.
We paid for breakfast, but what a disappointment: very basic white bread, coffee, basic sausage and cheese, and milk that was room temperature. No fruit, no youghurt, no toaster, and surely NOT worth the 5€.
During our stay we found that other guests were either school groups (expect loud partying until midnight or later!), or foreign workers, with a very different sense of tidyness than most tourists. Hint: Do not venture into the shared kitchen without rubber boots. It is dirty beyond belief, and was not cleaned during our stay.
Adding to the image of a run-down place: none of the 5 vending machines were in function, just sitting there with "out of order". Like a tivoli that was closed years ago.
There is potential in the place, and with a minimum efford, the place could be much better. So, here a few constructive suggestions:
- more wifi repeaters
- paper towel spenders in bathrooms, soap dispensers instead of soap bar, and shower curtains
- let people put down a charge to use kitchen (money back when accepted clean)
- be careful about image as "home for guest workers". Scares off tourists
- lights at beds
- buy some used higher quality bunk beds. IKEA beds are not good enough quality
- all doors must open to garden. Must not be locked
- vending machines away or made to work
- improve breakfast, at least keep milk cold and toast the breads
Right now: the place looks like a run-down money maker where NO efford is put in, basically another host for guest workers.
Tourists: NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

Never ever again!
When we called up the hostel from the car to confirm things were OK, they told us that they would not let us in after 21.00.
We answered that in that case, we needed to find another place to stay. They wanted us to cancel by internet, but we had not such a solution in the car.
On top of everything, the reason of our travel was that we had to travel suddenly: My father had a massive stroke and was dying in the hospital. We explained the situation, but they would not open for us anyway.
Now I can see that want a standard fee of €144 for canceling the reservation.
No, I did NOT cancel, THEY would not let us in!
And yes, I AM worst than angry! I am pissed off!
