Paradise in Bodrum

This summer we took a family vacation to Turkey to visit friends in Bodrum. The Highlights Hotel exquisitely accommodated us throughout our stay. The service was excellent, and the staff were kind and welcoming. The food was delicious and abundant, and the drinks were lavish! Not to mention the great music the DJ played throughout the day. They truly stopped at nothing to accommodate us including removing a floor board to retrieve a lost diamond ring. Thank you for a great stay, we’ll be back again next summer!

What a terrible experience!

The worst business I've ever seen. It's a real shame how such a beautiful sea and location can be managed so poorly. First of all, the hotel is not professionally managed. Therefore, it's impossible to find someone you can confide in. We drove to the front of the hotel and waited for someone to come and collect our suitcases, but unfortunately, no one came. We dismissed it, thinking it was due to the workload. We carried our suitcases up the stairs ourselves and went to the reception. There, we were greeted by Mr. Dogus, who introduced himself as the head of the office. He completed our check-in process and escorted us to our room, informing us that they had given us a larger room. He took us to a building outside the main area of ​​the hotel, and we later realized it was a different structure, a building. The room they gave us was basically a house, an apartment type place. There isn't even a room phone in the room that you can use to call reception. When we went to reception to request a room change, we were unfortunately told that everyone else liked it and we were the only ones who didn't. After that, they showed us the room, which you can see in the attached photos; it turned out to be the room we thought we had paid for. I specifically wanted to include both internet images and the actual product. Because when we expressed our discomfort about this room, a gentleman who was a sales manager stated that it would be more accurate to look at the descriptions written under the photos rather than trusting them. We made a mistake by making this reservation based on the photographs. No one had expressed any regret about the experience up until that point. When we thanked them and informed them that we did not wish to stay, they stated that they could not refund the cost of two days out of our four-day stay, explaining that this was the reason for taking the deposit. Unfortunately, we were forced to use the room because we didn't want to leave our payment inside. We needed to connect to the internet to use the TV in the room, so we called reception and they told us we could use our own phone's Wi-Fi. We couldn't believe it! It was truly unbelievable that they suggested we use our own internet connection in order to use the television they put in our hotel room. Since the main lights in the room couldn't be switched off, we used them by turning the circuit breaker off when we went to bed and turning them back on when we woke up. My wife wanted to speak with the hotel's general manager. The lady who met with him acknowledged all the shortcomings, apologized, and said that all the deficiencies would be rectified next year, explaining that they had to open the hotel very quickly this year. We still haven't received any offer from the person we believe to be the most authoritative figure at the hotel, such as a room change or perhaps a better room to compensate for the two days we lost due to this bad experience. My wife and I are two managers who have worked in the service industry for many years and can truly distinguish between good and bad. Nothing I've written is exaggerated or written from a dissatisfied point of view. As people who work in the industry, we may see everything in much more detail. But it's unacceptable for anyone to receive this kind of service for the price they paid. The breakfast team is doing their best, but the organizational shortcomings are so numerous that the fact that the hotel receives such good reviews, or that they don't encounter any problems during the day, is purely a matter of luck. The best bay, the best sea, practically a lake, you can see in Bodrum. You can stay at any hotel and only come here to use the beach. We wanted to explain everything in detail because we don't want anyone else to have such a bad experience. We will also pursue our rights to the fullest extent through the consumer court.

I left my money inside.

As an employee, my money is stuck inside, they're not paying it, I've become a beggar for the fruits of my own labor. I've applied and complained to the relevant authorities, but they don't even bother to respond. It's definitely labor exploitation, excessive overtime, and a threat to my safety... I will add comments everywhere.

Disgrace

It was the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. When I entered the room, there were dead insects and scorpions on the floor. Last night I found the large painting that had been on the bed had fallen over. This is a hotel where cleaning isn't done after 5 pm. The clientele was absolutely awful. The music was blasted at 8:30 in the morning and the volume wasn't turned down until the end of the day. We wanted to leave the hotel before our stay was over. They said they would refund the money and then disappeared. It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. No management, no manager, it's a ridiculous place.

Worst service

If you want to ruin your vacation, this hotel is the perfect choice.
Be prepared for endless frustration from the moment you arrive. If you plan to spend time at the beach, make sure to reserve your sunbed well in advance—otherwise, don’t expect to find one available.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the hotel manager. He was extremely rude, unprofessional, and clearly doesn’t know how to treat guests with basic respect. Instead of helping, he made every interaction unpleasant.
Definitely not the level of service you would expect from a hotel. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
