Very Disappointing Experience
We had booked a family room, but when we arrived we were shocked by the size. The room was incredibly small and, in our opinion, completely unsuitable for a family. It was on the top floor and required climbing three flights of stairs, which is particularly difficult with younger children or when travelling with lots of luggage. Ventilation in the room was also very limited.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness was a major issue. The room appeared as though it had not been properly cleaned for some time. The windowsills were covered in dirt, which wiped away easily, suggesting they had not been cleaned in weeks. The carpets did not appear to have been properly vacuumed, and the shower was dirty.
Around the side of the sink, there were used makeup bars, hairs and a significant amount of dirt. This was completely unacceptable, particularly when you are paying to stay in a hotel and expect a basic standard of cleanliness.
We raised our concerns with reception and were given two options. One was a refund, but unfortunately, because we had booked through a third-party company, we had to contact them ourselves to arrange this. What followed was almost an hour of frustration and back-and-forth trying to resolve the situation. To be fair, the B&B did provide a message confirming to the booking company that they would honour the refund, which we appreciated. However, we have now been told that it could take 7–10 days to receive the money back.
We were also disappointed with the customer service we received from the main reception member of staff. We felt that he could have been much more welcoming, supportive and understanding of the situation. Communication was difficult at times, and we were left with the impression that he lacked knowledge about how to handle the situation. Most importantly, we felt as though we were the inconvenience, rather than guests who had arrived expecting a clean and suitable family room.
Ultimately, we had no choice but to leave. There was no alternative accommodation available, so after a five-hour round trip, we ended up going home.
What should have been a lovely family break was completely ruined.
We appreciate that the refund was agreed, but that does not make up for the wasted journey, the time spent trying to resolve the issue, the poor condition of the room, and the disappointment caused to our family.
Sadly, based on our experience, we would not recommend this hotel and certainly would not return.

Don't read too much into the negative reviews.
On arriving july 2026 ,we was met by a lovely welcome, even let us check in earlier than expected, we stayed in room 1, which was ground floor, twin beds wasn't a problem, nice clean wet room bathroom, clean towels plenty toilet paper, fantastic WiFi, tv bit too high up on the wall thou, could do to be lowered slightly, And the window blind was broke,we managed to roll it half way an hook it on window ledge,Tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer in room, even a iron an ironing board.
Being in room 1 you are behind the counter of the bars so u can hear a bang an clang of bottles didn't bother us,so if u dnt want any noise maybe not room 1.
This hotel very reasonable priced for the 3 nights we stayed we was only in the room at night, I read too much into some of these reviews, you pay for what you get,our room was clean, lovely 3 days parking outside for 4 cars not suitable if ur going to be using car an might be blocked in,best using carpark behind hotel.
