Value for money

Its cheap but little far from the plaza de armas but its walkable. The staff are so helpful. The lady in reception can speak english and she book most of our tours. Hot shower high pressure in shower. Low internet in the room you need to stay in breakfast area. No complains since its cheap and the basics are available

Fantastic in every way

Overstayed my original booking so stayed in 2 rooms. Both had very comfortable double beds and nice bathrooms with excellent showers.
The staff (family?) are super friendly and will go out of their way to help you, if you need.
The hotel is a nice 5-10 minute walk from the main plaza or a cheap taxi, so it is much more quiet than the central hotels, and there are still some local shops and good restaurants nearby.
This was a great place to recoup after a long hike followed by illness

Comfortable on a budget

This is a family hotel, managed by the couple Zenaida and Moisés. The hosts were very amiable and eager to make us feel at home, got us a heater when we needed one. Breakfast was fresh and good (they charge 1 sol extra for eggs). Rooms were spacious enough, beds were very comfortable and there was hot water (electric shower).
The hotel is located a block from plaza San Blas, with some bars and restaurants close by, and is close to the plaza de armas. It is, however, a steep climb (that cannot be made by car) from the plaza, which can be quite hard to walk with luggage when you first get in Cusco and are still suffering from the altitude, but was manageable the rest of the days.
Zenaida also helped us with the tours, booking all for us but the Machupicchu tour (which we'd already booked ourselves) at very reasonable prices. They also let us keep our luggage in storage when we spent the night in Ollantaytambo before visiting Machupicchu.
All in all, a great option for visiting Cusco on a budget!

Well worth it.

If your aim is cheap, decent rooms then this is the spot. The couple that own Casa La Samblena are what makes the place, you won´t find nicer staff. They were nice enough to come with us via taxi to the bus station and organize our tickets entirely to La Paz, Bolivia as well as a tour to Lake Titicaca in between, all incredibly cheap.

Okay

We stayed here for 2 days. One 5 hour stay as we had an excursion planned They were supposed to pick us up from the airport, but forgot... So we waited for 40 minutes before we took a taxi ourselves.
The rooms were okay- what you expect for 25 dollars a night. The blankets were very nice. However it was freezing cold at night as the building was not well insulated.
It is located on a hill, so it was a workout to get there.
There was no hot water!! Had to take a freezing cold shower.
